Big East OOC 2.0

51-24 (9-17).

Siena defeats Seton Hall.

Not a good loss. This is getting kind of ugly.

I always look for bad losses early in the season. Villanova has 2 and Georgetown has 2 or 3 (Northwestern). That's basically it for the conference.
You can add Siena now

.-.
This is getting very ugly for the big east. I really hope teams like St. John’s and Xavier can have good seasons to keep the conference respectable this year (in addition to the two obvious ones in us and Creighton). Maybe we get a surprise team that wasn’t expected to do great like a Marquette or Providence. I’m afraid it may be too late for Nova already with the mounting bad losses. Sucks to say but we may need to go 16-4 or better in big east play to realistically expect a 3 seed or better in the tourney this year.

The Big East is clearly down this year but so is the ACC and Pac, it's nothing to fret about.
This is true, but you can't help but notice this is the second year the Big East is #4, the Pac-12 and ACC are either #5 or #6. It seems like a tier-structure is starting to cement.

Kunkel out for Xavier tonight. Not good.

This could be a big year for mid-major leagues as the Big East, ACC, and Pac-12 stink and the B1G, SEC, and Big 12 can only get so many teams in.

.-.
If the tournament started today, here is how many bids I would give each league.

B1G: 10
SEC: 9
Big 12: 8
Big East: 5 (UConn, Creighton, Xavier, St. John's, Marquette)
ACC: 5
Pac-12: 3
WCC: 2
MW: 2
AAC: 1
A-10: 1
MVC: 1

.-.
Wow that was a bomb from Strawther, huge shot.

Edit- And a 2nd one. That's ballgame.

.-.
So barring a comeback in the next 1:28, the Big East will be 0-3 with only UConn v Iowa State remaining to salvage a victory.

This has been a bizarre weekend for CBB.

51-25 (9-17).

Xavier loses a close one to Gonzaga. Not a bad loss but disappointing.

Can we make it one thread without some idiot taking a swipe at Ollie? He won a national championship.
Napier coached motivated and pushed ( literally) that team to a championship and Ollie simply went along for the ride and reaped the benefits and financial rewards and credit that he just didn’t deserve. IMHO

How is St. Louis this year?
They gave Auburn a major scare today at home. Watched a bunch . Whole game tight. Not a bad squad. Beat Memphis too.

But still it’s a good point: lol @ peecee
