That is a strange rule. So say there's 10 seconds left, possession arrow is in your favor, there's a loose ball and the 2 teams are fighting for it and you call a timeout. You're awarded the ball? That can't be right.
That doesn't make sense. If two players from different teams are fighting for the ball, sure that's a jump ball decided by the possession arrow. Green didn't have possession of the ball while he was falling out of bounds, that would not involve a jump ball with a possession arrow.
No, that's not what I'm saying. What I'm saying is that in the specific situation where you call a timeout and it's deemed that you don't have possession that's when it goes to the possession arrow

I think they made the right call. He had the sense to get the refs attention to call the timeout and I think there was enough there for possession.
"Possession" while in the air out of bounds?

Agree to disagree, if you're an inbounder you need to establish two feet in bounds before you can touch it and possess the ball, the same theory should apply in situations like what happened at the end of that game. I do not see how possession is established when you're midair, out of bounds, and never possessed the ball with your feet inbounds.

Because that's the rule, you can call timeout in the air before you land out of bounds.

Yea that's my point, its a stupid rule which is why the NBA got rid of it

You said agree to disagree, that's what threw me off. I also think it's a stupid rule but that's the rule and I think they got the call right.

It looks like he already had a foot down out of bounds when he got "possession" of the ball. Weird to allow them to call a TO and keep the ball

I wasn’t watching….,was it not reviewable to see if he had possession before he called TO??

St John's is taking it to Marquette. This is mirror image of styles as both teams defensively get in their opponents faces to pressure them and force turnovers. The main difference is SJU is a very good rebounding team and Marquette is not.

We basically have a triangular series this week. UConn visited Marquette Marquette is visiting St. John's, and then St. John's will visit UConn. Announcers have already referenced the Marquette loss to UConn a few times.

Outside of Kam Jones Marquette has the same problem we have. Who go gets you a bucket?

They go to low efficiency Joplin next.

Gold is a giant empty spot on their roster. I don’t even think he’s high D1.

Marquette has 9 points on three ugly 3s. They’re lucky to be this close.

If StJ could shoot they’d be really good.

If Marquette stays good from 3, this is a game. As it is, it's already tied.
