An incredibly physical game, and Marquette has 4 fouls with St John's having two team fouls. This is how games should be officiated, let them play.

As much as been said about us being the only team in KP's top 35 with a D rating > 100, St. John's in the only team in the top 25 with an O rating >60.

They're gonna have to shoot better to make noise in March.

Agreed. If Friday’s game is officiated this way, St. John’s has no chance.

Currently 338th in country in 3pt%. That is 26 spots from dead last. Don’t know how you fix that.

St. John’s stands with the ball for 8 seconds, doesn’t get a 5 second call, then Jones gets his third

Outside of Kam Jones Marquette has the same problem we have. Who go gets you a bucket?
Probably Chase Ross if you have to find a Robin to Kam Jones's Batman.

Bailout call to give you 3 FTs and you miss all 3 smh

Electric crowd here at MSG. Its crazy what a top coach + NIL money can do.

If the Big East as a whole can find NIL money for its programs I think it should be able to stay afloat

St Johns is thoroughly outplaying Marquette. They are out-working, out-hustling, out-defending, and out-energy'ing them. Winning the offensive boards 10-0. Kam Jones has 2 points on 25% shooting, and 3 fouls at halftime

Anyways, Marquette is up 31-30 because "Zaide Lowery" turned into Steph Curry

Are you at the game?

Easier said than done but if Marq can keep StJ off the offensive glass in the 2nd half they win, they can't shoot it well enough

I am not quite sure what I am missing with this St. John's team, but it is a wonder they are as successful as they are. They certainly play hard and good defense, but this team does not feel significantly better than last year's St. John's. Maybe I am missing something, but feels like a case of a weaker BE this year allowing them to rise to the top (well until they drop both games to UConn).

Marquette is shooting 57 percent - there haven’t been many offensive rebounds to be had.

Kam Jones has been hit with a case of the yips. He can’t shoot anymore, shooting 24% from 3 in BE play. Every starter for StJ tonight shoots 28% or under from 3.

StJ with 9 off rebounds, 7 more shots taken.

Some weird stats - Marquette with 7 blocks already to StJ 1. Teams are combined 4-13 from free throw line. Ejifor has his customary 4 offensive rebounds but hasn’t turned it into points.

StJ has been a second half team this season, but usually driven by the defensive pressure. Marquette has the guard play to weather the storm (get it), did a nice job taking care of ball after a ton of early TOs.

If Xavier wants to even think about an at-large, it needs to pretty much win out, and look good doing it. I don’t know that Xavier is really built to do that this year. Too much hero ball by that team.

Already multiple turnovers and offensive boards surrendered by Marquette in 2 minutes of play into the 2nd half, can't keep giving StJ extra possessions

What's interesting about Xavier's remaining schedule is they've already played all 6 games against Marq/StJ/Uconn and at Creighton. They are well positioned to go on a run. They're just going to have to win some of those pesky games @Nova, @PC. 5-6 with 9 games to go, guessing they are going to have to win 7 minimum.

We need Ross to turn into Luis.
