That looks good.

About 15 years ago when I visited Japan I had a limited production dark beer made by Suntory, who is more known for hard liquor like whiskey. That beer remains one of the best dark beers I've ever had.

I I became king, I would enforce the beer release schedule. Nothing Summer until June. Nothing Pumpkin until September. Etc. Tired of not being able to get fresh fall stuff because it was brewed in June to jump the market.

Amen to that. After Labor Day only. I hate the rush to claim it is fall. It's not fall until nearly the end of September. Then they rush winter too. It's not just beer, it's everything.

I was out doing the work.

Lucky Buddha Enlightened Beer. Great bottle with a Buddha right on it. Nice, cheap Asian-style beer that you are supposed to drink with your left hand for added luck. Made from the waters of a lake in China. I could not even taste the acid rain.

It was fine. Bottle was cool. Buy one if you are ever at a Tiki bar in Chatham, Mass., while your family is enjoying their $16 cocktails.

Lawson’s Fest Bier…it actually felt a little like September at times at the Cape this weekend, so it was fine.

High marks for this one. One of two beers I had last week that really impressed me. Grab this instead of the S’mores rocky road cotton candy stout you’re looking at.

They just need to admit that they do not like beer - stop torturing yourselves and just order whatever umbrella drink your wife is ordering.

Our resident “beer expert” is spot on with this one. I’m a major festbier lover, especially as we enter the next few months. Light, crushable and flavorful style. Lawson’s brews a quality and accessible fest. 🍻

It’s fine. Is it my favorite example of a beer style that I do not care for? No. Is it really close? Yes. I think I slightly prefer Heady Topper, to be honest, but I far preferred this to the Lawson’s or Cloud Candy I had earlier in the month. (If you pipe up trying to split hairs about variants of pale ales, I will punch you in the throat.)

Also, it’s five damned dollars for 8.2% ABV. That is a really, really fair price for something that they no doubt could have turned the dial up on. I love their business model and approach and I will not snicker at you if you show up drinking one of these in my presence.

Not surprised you like this because of the style, but of all the German brands, I think Tucher is among the worst. It is cheap however.
