Thimble Island Brewing is closing down and their last day is May 24. Sad times. The news that the building was for sale came out a few months ago. They got through COVID and then spent big $$$ on internal improvements.

On a side note...am waiting to see when/if NEBCO takes over at Stony Creek.

It was about time for Thimble. Held on longer than I thought they would. As for Stony Creek, I’ve been told by a reliable source at another CT brewery that it’s definitely a “when” and not an “if” re NEBCO occupying the beautiful Stony Creek space.

Thx for this. I need Imperial Stout Trooper near me. I'm 20 minutes away.

Set aside that Tree Monkey Fruit Smash Triple New Zealand IPA that you’re pretending to like because you forgot beer was supposed to taste good and get a nice 1664 lager.

Beer, with beer notes and a lingering beer aftertaste. This beer doesn’t care about your emo nonsense and your pretentious beer advocate reviews that few read and no one believes. This is a beer for men who like beer, not boys who like fruity nonsense with imbecilic names.

I get it.....it's good friggin beer.

But I still love my IPAs too ;)

It’s actually perfectly average beer. Buy Narragansett instead…cheaper and it’s basically the same thing.

I upgrade it by one orbit because the first time I tried it, I was in Paris, it was 100 degrees, nothing was air conditioned and the stupid French have no idea what an ice cube is.

We went to a cafe and I asked the waiter to just bring me the coldest beer they had in the biggest glass they had. And that’s what they gave me. I considered it a matter of survival at the time.

But those Alsatian hops, tho.

I don't do Beer Advocate.

Honestly, as much as I love the big IPAs, the older I get the more I appreciate a good lager.....especially after working in the heat. Will give that one a try as I come across it in my travels.

It’s good - it’s basically a mass produced French beer and nothing you can’t get from a million other beers, but the can is cool.

I'm a card-carrying IPAhead, and rate on BA, so I feel assaulted by your take.

That said - I still describe a Budweiser after playing 2 hockey games in a row as one of the most delicious beers I've ever tasted, for the same reason you post above.

That being said - we'll all get off your lawn, you codger.

I have had that beer on tap many times over in Europe and it's such a good summer beer.

Then I come back to the states and grab a 6 pack of bottles and it always skunked. Just happened to weeks ago. I still have 5 left in the beer fridge. Maybe I should try cans.

Definitely go with cans.

As a bonus, there’s an extra ounce in ‘em compared to our usual 16 oz cans.

I’ve circled where I believe they put the extra beer.

My preference (I confess to being a hophead). Three levels of IPAs:

3rd Place: English IPA; very malty, low IBU
2nd Place: New England (aka East Coast) IPA; hazy, clingy, grapefruit, medium IBU
1st Place: West Coast IPA; lacing, piney, strong finish, high IBU. Hophead's dream

Sounds like 2 Roads is scaling up.
On the contrary. They have seen a decline in sales. And after their massive $40 million expansion, the craft beer industry started to get quite challenging. They were sitting on excess brewing capacity and they are trying to be opportunistic with the explosion of canned RTD cocktails, THC beverages, etc.

What if its bottom-fermented?

Among my favorite CT brews. A sour ale from Tox Brewing and Little House Brewing. It's a bowl of tortilla chips and salsa in a glass. Every flavor note is nailed.
