After a 58 day hiatus from drinking this one tasted quite good. My daughter said my eyes rolled into the back of my head like a frenzied shark. Shout out to The Garrison House in Brookline, MA for the absolutely perfect pour.

Love a good Boston bar represented. You live in Brookline? Or just in town for the festivities?

I was donating stem cells at Dana Farber. I finished at 1:30 PM on Wednesday and had a Guinness in my hands at 2:30.
What took you so long?

I walked out of one bar on Monday since they only had Guinness in cans but fortunately found another bar that had it on tap. It was delicious, especially paired with corned beef and cabbage dinner.

Thinking about doing a wisconsin trip to time with broomball nationals. We will see.

Caught the Fairfield watch party and a few other games at Elicit in Black Rock yesterday.

Impressive spot and decent food, but I wasn’t crazy about the two beers I tried. Despite each beer’s low-ish ABV, they felt boozy, less beery.

I’m not a beer expert and rarely drink nowadays, so I’ve lost my fastball in terms of beer tasting, but I’m curious what the consensus thinks about their offerings.

I love everything about the Manchester Elicit except the Elicit beer. A couple are OK, imo. They don't run as many guest taps as they used to. I actually like their food for what it is, tasty pub grub.

Tomorrow I think i want to hit forest and main on the way up to allentown and possibly fegley in Allentown. The remaining question is whether or not to leave after the game to Bonn place or give up that idea and leave it for another trip. I would prefer Bonn place of the three

Don't know how often you're up that way, but have you ever been to Two Rivers in Easton? And old colleague of mine, Troy Reynard, from back in my coffee days is a part owner. I haven't been in years, but they're now going on like 20 years. Beer was solid if not exceptional, burgers were truly spectacular.

I'm going to guess you don't mean two roads? Unless they're a bar?

No but I'm not going out to Easton. I'm washington dc based and coming up from there

Yeah, brain fart. It's Two Rivers. We all know Two Roads.

Elicit beer sucks.

That's alright. Got to forest and main on the way up. Got to bonn place after the game

Not coming up on Sunday so that ends this meta trip.

This is the product of what is probably one of the strangest collaborations in beer history: The Alchemist, legendary microbrewery renowned for top-rated brews like Heady Topper, Focal Banger, and Rapture, and Pittsburgh Brewing Company, butt of jokes both within and outside Pittsburgh for yinzer favorites like Iron City, IC Light and IC Light Mango.

I don't recall the price, but it was reasonable for a "micro" lager, but more expensive than Iron City. Drinks smoothly, has a bit more hoppiness than IC, but all the qualities you'd want in a lawnmower beer.

Iron City was one of the worst beers I ever drank. Literally tasted like a smelting furnace.

So far my beer buddies and my cousin and her husband who take "beercations" have declared hand pulled Heady Topper (the only draft you can get there) is the best beer they've ever had. I still haven't tried it having sworn off visiting Vermont after we sold our house. So this is a weird Collab.

Visited Buttonwoods in Providence Saturday. Beers were pretty good, not a bad taproom. It's a very artsy neighborhood vibe. There's a distillery across the street ISCO. Decent and they had a live band in the big outdoor covered patio. Providence Brewing is half a block away, but we didn't get there. It's connected to a big farmer's market. It's all an old industrial area.

I'd take Focal Banger over Heady Topper every day.

Not me. It’s much more bitter. But even my friends who agree with you said the hand pulled Heady is just much better.

IPA is a great style for masking mistakes. This beer has none. Not one flaw. Absolute perfection. DDH DIPA, hopped with Citra/Nelson/Strata. Everything about this beer is amazing.
