I don't know if this sounds terrible or wonderful. "We took a fresh batch of our new American IPA, Inhopnito, and added in 20lbs of fresh Jalapeños and pineapple purée. It’s a refreshing brew with a bite, medium body and bitterness, yet high in aroma and flavor. ABV 6.2%" But since it's Berkshire, meh is more likely.

From Berkshire, no. In more capable hands I might be curious.

Spoke & Spy Cider in Middletown makes what I consider to be the best and most interesting Connecticut ciders, and he does one called Tepache Mode, which is his take on the Mexican pineapple-based drink Tepache, with some very interesting Mexican spices. I generally don’t prefer sweet or even semi-sweet ciders, but this one is a winner because of the perfect sweet-heat combo.

That’s what I would hope for in this combo, but I wouldn’t have faith that Berkshire could pull it off that well.

Yes, you are right. But I’d still buy a can. That mango habanero cider is terrific. I should stick with that and add Mezcal. Might have that for Cinco tomorrow.

I would try this one:

That is a good hangover drink. Need to get the going or if you plan on going hair of the dog and starting as soon as you wake up.

Obviously a home made Chelada with some seasoned salt on the rim of the glass is much better.

Not everyone’s cup of tea, I realize, but I have been on the sour IPA train since the style was basically invented about seven years ago by the talented brewers at Hudson Valley Brewery in Beacon. Not to be confused with kettle sours - which are essentially cheap, almost hop-less, sugar and fruit purée bombs that require little or no brewing skills - sour IPAs are quite difficult to get right. Ambio… sour DIPA with raw wheat, malted oat, raspberry, lychee, toasted coconut & rose petals. Absolutely amazing if your palate appreciates tart and dry beers.

I sense condescension.

Sorry, I meant condensation.

For those of you celebrating Cinco de Mayo for the rest of the month, the Tox & Little House collaboration "Chips and Dip" is available again. It's a sour brewed with Tortilla Chips, Mango, Hot Peppers, Key Lime, Lime Zest, and a touch of Sea Salt. It's delicious.

Holy adjuncts overkill, Batman! You had me at mango, lime zest, hot pepper and sea salt.

I am really enjoying these classic American lagers, but with better ingredients. This new corn lager from Trillium is brewed with a heritage strain of corn grown at Trillium Farm in North Stonington. Slightly sweet, hint of corn, insanely crushable on a day like today.

Abandoned Building in East Hampton Mass makes good stuff. This is odd. Zappa hops, it’s not an ode to Frank. Not loving it but it’s ok on Friday after golf.

I’ve always been curious about Abandoned Building. Need to try them out next time I head up to the happy valley. Zappa is a hop I am not familiar with.

The brewery is fun, the IPAs and stouts are excellent. There is another brewery in the complex that has lower abv styles. Seems to cater to cyclists. Never had Zappa before, and now I know why.

Better than Ahrn City (Iron City to those who never heard someone say "Y'ins").
Arn gets a bad rap, n'at. It's bedder den a lot uhda nashnul macros if you're just tryin' to warsh dahn a cut of Vinnie pie.
