Had the sip of sunshine at Vauaghns. 8 bucks for a snifter. It was good, but no better than 2 roads road to ruin (my favorite right now). They tasted very similar, and then I read that Lassans brews it at the 2 roads brewery. Hmmm
Maybe it's just personal preference, but I find the big West Coast ones a notch better.Picked up SoS and SS#2 this afternoon at one of my regular package stores. The SS was out front and the SoS was in the back. It's good, but I don't understand the hassle people go through to get it. I can think of a couple of IPAs that are just as good or better and are much easier to find.

Thanks very much. Will do.Anytime. You know that. Although most of that order was of the " oh, you're playing in Burlington? can you bring me back....." from friends and family. I did keep a few.
I have a couple gigs up there with Melvin Seals at the end of next week.
This time I'm loading up for bear.
Pm me your order. Seriously.
Agree with you on HT over SoS. I've still yet to try Focal Banger.I still like heady topper better than SoS.
Fuzzy baby ducks still rules CT as far as mania goes.
My friend who runs PST in New Haven tapped a sip of sunshine a week or so ago. He was expecting a run, and I came a few days later and it was still going on tap. He was shocked.
In the interim he got a FBD and it was dry in under 4 hours.
People are coming from all over when they hear that is tapped somewhere.
I can't deal with the FBD mania any more. When I happen upon it, I get it, but I'm not dealing with the madness to track it down. I grabbed Supernaut at the brewery last week and there was no line, which is just so funny to me because I think it's right there with FBD, but I love both Citra and Mosaic so it's a win-win for me. Their Fat 10-er #6 was also excellent--hoppy blonde ale with Nelson and Hallertau. Perfect for summer.

I was checking PST's FaceBook page when they had SoS and was surprised to see how long it lasted; same with Westbrook Lobster in Clinton, which had it for almost a week. Prime had it on last night but no happy hour pricing. I think a bit of the buzz is wearing off for it, especially the willingness to pay a premium for it given the increasing availability of other quality options. I mean, how in the world do you justify no happy hour pricing for SoS when you allow it for Maine Beer's Lunch?
My dimwitted sister in law kept stammering through the name of this item and I lost interest in what she was trying to say. I want this. I do love the UFO Big Squeeze and now need to find this. For something completely different that is refreshingly addictive in the summer heat (and only 2.5% ABV), look for this:

We first discovered it on tap at Westbrook Lobster in Clinton and then saw it again at the Sitting Duck in Stratford (interestingly, the bartender there recommended trying it over ice with vodka--haven't done that yet).My dimwitted sister in law kept stammering through the name of this item and I lost interest in what she was trying to say. Well scratch what I said then, because you might like 668 quite a bit given your preferences (it's a strong Belgian Blonde Ale). It sells like crazy for them, so obviously lots of people like it; just not my style. Funny, I'm not crazy about the styles Ommegang makes generally, but I recently tried their new IPA (Nirvana, I think?) and liked it a lot more than I expected to. It was not Belgian-style at all to my palate; tasted like a very good American IPA to me.

Make sure you drink the Grapefruit Sculpin first; the Habanero Sculpin will ruin your tastebuds for anything else. I like them both, but I am definitely in the minority on the Habanero. On the way out of Essex bought a single Sculpin Habanero and Grapefruit. Will sip one tonight. Mebbe both.
Why does Two Roads make Road Jam?
They make perfectly fine beers. Why ruin the variety pack?

Those are probably my two least favorite beers that they brew. I really don't like the Rye 95, and the Road Jam is just "meh."I love Two Roads and agree with you 100%. They brew Rye 95 for about a month and then switch over to Road Jam for four. It drives me crazy since Rye 95 is one of my favorites.

I don't really love any of their beers, but I like L'il Heaven, and Road 2 Ruin has improved from the malty booze-bomb that it used to taste like--apparently they are taking some notes from Sean Lawson when he comes down to brew his Sip of Sunshine there.
For the life of me, I have no idea who is buying all the Evil Twin beers they brew there. I think they have wayyyy too many offerings, and are much too expensive.
Yeah, that's just a style thing for me; I'm not a fan of white IPAs, because I'm not much of a white beer fan generally. I like wheat beers very much, but only the German hefeweizen style that has more of a banana flavor profile. I don't like the Belgian white (or "wit") style that has more of a clove flavor. That's why I've never been crazy about Allagash, Blue Moon, etc.Fair enough on Two Roads. Road 2 Ruin has definitely gotten better (it's one of my favorite DIPAs now), but Honeyspot Road is still my favorite beer of theirs, and maybe my favorite overall.
