Me too. I had Chinookered on tap while I was there. I picked 3 to take home that I never had before. I had already purchased the Sip at package store on the way up.No Chinookerd? I love that one.

13 beers over 4.5 days. Less than 3 beers per day in Belgium, that's so sad.Just got back home a bit ago. Threw this collage together of the 13 beers I managed over 4.5 days in Belgium.
All were very good (although Kriek style ain't my thang). Didn't knock off a ton of my original list (nor get close to drinking 25 beers period), but can't say I'm disappointed at all. Definitely a country to visit if beer is your thing.

The reality that our trip was indeed over occurred on the return flight, when the drink cart came out and a couple of people sitting behind wife and me ordered Bud Lights. I was sad for America.

Treehouse makes Julius but I agree on Rec League. Definitely a good session beer. I picked it up for my post-softball brews many times this summer, which I’m sure is their intention given the name. Harpoon is doing good things to stay relevant in the murky large craft category.I’ll throw this in here. If you can find Harpoon Rec League near you and would like a low calorie, non filling IPA, I really enjoyed it. Bought it in Vermont last week. 3.8% alcohol and 120 calories. I was drinking them like Miller Lite. Never got full or bloated. Unfortunately, can’t find it in FL.
It reminds me of a cheap (quality wise), weak Trillium Julius. I emphasize, really cheap and weak. But I liked it and would make it my go to beer for football, golf, fishing etc. if I could buy it locally. Of course, I’d still like heavier, better beers now and then, but I could live with it most of the time. Give it a shot if you need a less fattening, lower alcohol option.
I’ve never heard of Little Sister until now, but I’ll have to check it out.Anyone have Little Sister yet? The session version of captains daughter. Could a really good summer beach/ golf type beer. Bought at a packy but surprised to see it at stop n shop as well
Other Half is fantasticTheir cans remind me of Other Half.
I'm a big Infinite Universe fan.Unicorn Farm IPA by back east is pretty underrated. I know everyone loves ice cream man, as do I, but Unicorn Farm should get more hype. Would also like to try double scoop
Very good... And the intergalactic lupulinary is fantastic as well...I'm a big Infinite Universe fan.
I don't drink a heck of a lot of beer, but we were in Vermont for the marathon and they had Heady Topper at whatever place we went to on Church Street.
I failed to see the greatness of it - yes, they managed to cram all the hops in the world into it, but it tasted like a pine cone.
I had one from Treehouse in MA called Sap that also tasted like a pine cone, yet somehow it was still delicious.
That's intentional with respect to Sap. Heady Topper is more fruity really. Most Treehouse beers are too.
I don't think Sap is one of their better beers. Just my opinion. It's still good but most of their other stuff is better.I had one from Treehouse in MA called Sap that also tasted like a pine cone, yet somehow it was still delicious.

Every time I go to Tree House I am amazed how good everything they make is. It's like the question I always have about pizza, "Why can't everyone make it as good as some of the places in CT?" Why are Tree House's beers consistently so good compared to most places?
Yes, I understand that, although a year and a half later I am still amazed by how good a beer that tasted like a pine cone was. It speaks to how good these guys are at their craft.

Was in Stowe for a wedding this weekend and made the obligatory Alchemist run. Frustrating that you can’t get full drafts but it’s cool they let you drink what you buy on premises. It’s always a little overwhelming in VT when you out to dinner and see a draftlist with 20 beers you wanna try.

I was a little disappointed in the brewery to be honest. Very frustrated that you can only get two drafts on tap and not full drafts. It’s really a place you go to to load up and bring back to CT.
I agree completely, except I would put Crusher up there with Heady Topper and Focal Banger. They flubbed it. They built it two years too early and didn't leave much room to change it. That era was all about people waiting in line for cans. Since then Trillium opened Canton, and gave out similar little pours. They recognized that mistake fairly quickly and now do a robust draft business. Treehouse built a massive new brewery that was all about cans. They also underwent major renovations and now do a pretty massive draft business. It's spectacular. Lawson's sat back and watched all that and they absolutely nailed it the first time. A cozy Vermont tap room with everything you could want in all seasons, plus an adjoining space focused on can delivery. They can open the can space earlier, and seal off the taproom, then move the wall when the taproom opens.
I'm disappointed that Jon Kimmich hasn't felt the need to update the Alchemist. After all, they started as a pub selling their own beer on draft long before they canned anything. I also have to say that other than Heady Topper and Focal Banger, many of the beers are not impressive (The red ale is excellent).
