Piggybacking off this, but how does a student go about getting tickets for tonight's game?

ISU fans always turn out. They support their women. For the 2012-2013 season ISU ranked 2nd nationally with an average of 9,970 per game.

ISU fans tend to support women's basketball, even if ISU is not playing. I would be surprised if they have bad attendance numbers.

Yeah, that's actually a puzzlingly disappointing attendance for Iowa State since they averaged about 10,000 last year and about 9500 this year. But I'm not sure if regular season home games are apples-to-oranges with NCAA tourney games, with the home team only playing in one of them.

But absolutely right about Toledo who had a nice jump yesterday above the 4000 mark. Good sign for the WCBB.

Could be a result of fans following the men. I'm guessing they have a lot of fans in San Antonio.

Curious, what's the ticket cost for the first round games? Since the cost of regular season tix is considered to be a culprit for the drop in regular season attendance, I thinking there may be a relationship.

Seems like a few more demerits should be handed out today

Somewhat deceiving and a result of seeding and placement IMO! Had Gonzaga and Stanford went to Seattle, I'm sure those numbers would be much higher! Seems like a lot of teams are far from home like South Carolina for example.

Are you suggesting, then, that teams should be seeded according to geography not merit?

With such mediocre attendance, even at home venues; why not send everyone to neutral sites?

not necessarily.

But lets be real, not a lot wcbb teams travel well.

I am for same sites every year and be completely neutral.

My niece is a softball player and every year my family knows that Oklahoma City is the destination. Its kinda nice.

I say 4 regional sites and the FF in say Vegas, every year.

just my two cents which means nothing but the softball games at Oklahoma City always have a great turnout.

But the seeding and the sites are not fixed - the #1 seed in the west didn't have to got to Seattle for the first round. They seemed to go out of the way to put eastern teams into LA and Seattle and send western teams east.

Wow pretty pathetic attendance for UCONN fans.
I was disappointed too, but we drew a bad time slot: Sunday at 8 PM, before a workday. And the competition was both familiar and weak. Let's see what we get on Tuesday. The better competition and the earlier time slot should help. I'd love to see 10,167, but 8,000+ would be good. This will be Stef's and Bria's last game at home. And it is a great team.

I agree. I really wanted to go but a game on Sunday night at 8:00pm is a bit late. Especially when I am 90min away and wake up early for work.

Thank you to those fans who did go for those who could not!

What is strange for me is I am not going to the Gampel games but I am going to Lincoln, NE to represent the national flag blue and white. Having family in the land of the Huskers helps as it allows me to sneak in a short visit that might otherwise not have happened until 2015 due to current work responsibilities. Working 14 hours a day including many weekends I am lucky to even find time to watch even a part of each game. At least going to Lincoln my work laptop will stay in the hotel room while I cheer on the Huskies in person far from home.

There should be quite a few due to Native Americans going to see the Schimmel sisters tomorrow night.
