This article lists the top players in California by class over the past 11 years. Some very familiar names.

Last 11 State Juniors of the Year: 2019 Vanessa DeJesus (Chatsworth Sierra Canyon); 2018 Charisma Osborne (Los Angeles Windward); 2017 Aquira DeCosta (Stockton St. Mary’s); 2016 Destiny Littleton (La Jolla Bishop’s); 2015 Sabrina Ionescu (Orinda Miramonte); 2014 Katie Lou Samuelson (Santa Ana Mater Dei); 2013 Jordin Canada (Los Angeles Windward); 2012 Kelsey Plum (La Jolla Country Day); 2011 Aly Beebe (Santa Maria St. Joseph); 2010 Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis (Santa Ana Mater Dei); 2009 Chelsea Gray (Stockton St. Mary’s).

Last 11 State Sophomores of the Year: 2019 Brooke Demetre (Santa Ana Mater Dei); 2018 Rowan Hein (Fresno Clovis North); 2017 Haley Jones (San Jose Archbishop Mitty); 2016 Aquira DeCosta (Stockton St. Mary’s); 2015 Destiny Littleton (La Jolla Bishop’s); 2014 Sabrina Ionescu (Orinda Miramonte); 2013 Katie Lou Samuelson (Santa Ana Mater Dei); 2012 Jordin Canada (Los Angeles Windward); 2011 Kelsey Plum (La Jolla Country Day); 2010 Aly Beebe (Santa Maria St. Joseph); 2009 Kaleena Mosqueda-Lewis (Santa Ana Mater Dei).

Last 11 State Freshmen of the Year: 2019 Isuneh “Ice” Brady (San Diego Cathedral Catholic); 2018 Kiki Iriafen (Studio City Harvard-Westlake); 2017 Breanne Ha (Rancho Cucamonga Los Osos); 2016 Charisma Osborne (Los Angeles Windward); 2015 Aquira De Costa (Stockton St. Mary’s); 2014 Destiny Littleton (La Jolla Bishop’s); 2013 DiJonae Carrington (San Diego Horizon Christian); 2012 Katie Lou Samuelson (Huntington Beach Edison); 2011 Joesetta Fatuesi (San Jose Presentation); 2010 Kendall “K.C.” Waters (Oakland Bishop O’Dowd); 2009 Jordan Adams (Santa Ana Mater Dei).

That Katie Lou kid shows up a lot!

Regarding Kaleena, Parade Magazine used to list All-American teams. They had KML as a 1st team All-American 3 times. I believe they ranked her as the #5 player in the nation as a sophomore, #3 player as a junior, and #1 player as a senior. The "Lewis Launch" made her famous.

I can't help but notice the very few "busts" on @MilfordHusky list above-Destiny Littleton (Texas, now SC) and Aquira DeCosta (Baylor, now Loyala Maramount).

This may get its own thread as one of the reasons we have heard why HoopGurlz listed Angel Reese as #2 was her potential/ceiling is so high, yet other times we hear posters say the "ranking" is only reflective of the players current status. More to come...

Since Hoopgurlz is nothing more than one guy’s opinion, maybe those posters should ask Dan Olson instead of just guessing.

If you want to hear what Olson says, this is a good listen (I just listened to like the last 15 or so minutes). ESPN HoopGurlz and CGBR Dan Olson - BallNGems Got the Hoop Scope

Aly Beebe, another player on the list, signed with Stanford, tore her ACL repeatedly, and had to medically retire without having ever played a minute in college.

Is there a list available of grad students eligible to play for 2020-21?

Sad! I was wondering what happened to her.

I am going to isolate myself for the next few years so I can enjoy the talent we have coming in.

This from The San Diego Union-Tribune, April 14:

Ice Brady of Cathedral Catholic was named the girls basketball Sophomore of the Year by Cal-Hi Sports.

The 6-4 Brady, who has committed to UConn, averaged 16.5 points and 10.7 rebounds a game for the Dons.

Last year's Freshman of the Year, Brady is the fourth player from San Diego to be named the top sophomore in the state, joining Destiny Littleton of Bishop's (2015), La Jolla Country Day's Kelsey Plum (2011), and Terri Mann of Point Loma (1985).

There is an article over on ESPN which I will not link here so as not to perpetrate a myth. The article is hyping a guy named Emoni Bates for being the "first" player to win Gatorade HS basketball POY as a sophomore. Mr. Bates might be a very good player but he was not the first-Azzi Fudd was the first.

To be fair, it does say Gatorade National Boys Player of The Year.

This montage of Paige highlights from last summer's U19's has likely been posted before, but Courtside Film's new tweet allows us to watch them again:

Ellie Mack, The Grad Transfer from Bucknell, just signed with Oregon State. At 6'3" she would help any team.
Two transfer losses with UConn misses out on Austin whom is going to Mississippi too. Again, we miss out on 2 bigs again.
