The only possible defense of Moorehead's time at Akron is that there is little Akron has to distinguish itself from the other five Ohio MAC schools who all draw from the same recruiting pool. Adding to that challenge is that the other five were in the MAC for more than four decades longer than Akron.
I will go on record now stating that I will be very disappointed if he lands the job (not the punch in the gut that Pasqualoni was, but still bad), but as I had done with all prior hires, I will hope for the best and be sure that there is sufficient alcohol to temper my dissatisfaction.
Very true, but isn't it the job of head coach to run his program so that it can be distinguished from its peers? If Moorhead can't outperform Toledo, Kent St, and a bunch of directional Michigans, then is he the kind of guy we want?
Moorhead's record at Akron is the one reason why I wouldn't be thrilled with a Moorhead hire.
