Within a week we will have a new coach in placeAre we certain?
.....aaand a home coming queen -- s/o to Mansfield's Peter TorkI'm a chieleiver.
If it is Moorhead why did it take so long to announce it? I did not know Akron was playing for a CFP spot.Morehead makes the most sense. Maybe not the best but has head coaching credentials which aren’t bad.

13-35 as HC at Akron. Are you delusional?Morehead makes the most sense. Maybe not the best but has head coaching credentials which aren’t bad.

If you can get a guy who is 13-35 at Akron and only had success at Fordham you have to do it.Morehead makes the most sense. Maybe not the best but has head coaching credentials which aren’t bad.
This is was my reaction when I keep seeing Moorhead's name mentioned for being hired to coach UConn Football:If it is Moorhead why did it take so long to announce it? I did not know Akron was playing for a CFP spot.
And we’re hearing this from???Morehead makes the most sense. Maybe not the best but has head coaching credentials which aren’t bad.
I prefer parsing the qualifications. Passing the qualifications is sometimes difficult.Agree, yet I am reflexively checking the football board. I suspect the next time we hear anything it will be the listing of the position, which will lead people to passing the qualifications to determine who the candidate is.
Heard it from Diaco. DB was deciding between those two,And we’re hearing this from???
What was his record at Mississippi State? If you can get a guy who is 13-35 at Akron and only had success at Fordham you have to do it.
In all seriousness Moorhead is the worst name I've seen thrown out there and there's been plenty of bad names thrown out there.
I beg to differ. Rule #1 says you can also have slower and the wrong decision. The Boneyard’s general consensus is we cant screw this up.
You can have slower and right decision or fast and wrong decision. You can’t have both.

You've stated the downside of why I have mixed feelings. The upside is he was here and knows the program, he was a really good OC for a long time, given the issues Mississippi State has in the SEC his job there was solid, and while his time at Akron has not been good there's also a reason he hasn't been pushed out yet -- because even Akron knows that no one is going to win at Akron. The only possible defense of Moorehead's time at Akron is that there is little Akron has to distinguish itself from the other five Ohio MAC schools who all draw from the same recruiting pool. Adding to that challenge is that the other five were in the MAC for more than four decades longer than Akron.
I will go on record now stating that I will be very disappointed if he lands the job (not the punch in the gut that Pasqualoni was, but still bad), but as I had done with all prior hires, I will hope for the best and be sure that there is sufficient alcohol to temper my dissatisfaction.
14-12 before being fired. What was his record at Mississippi State?
I mean, he wasn't THAT bad at Mississippi at least as far as record. 8-4 in the first year, granted 6-7 in the second year though there were a bunch of players suspended for academic issues and his QB was injured in a fight during practice. So those two things are cause for concern.I'm on the fence about Morehead, but if we wanted him he would have accepted and been announced already.
