America’s team?

Zags will be a number 1 seed, maybe even the highest number one seed. Every bracket expert will pick them to reach the Final Four. Seth Davis will pick them to win the National Championship for the 20th consecutive year

50/50 chance they survive the first weekend, it's tradition (along with another 8 teams from the Big 10)

My favorite tradition since 1999 is uconn winning/final four every 5 years or so, we are past due.

There is only one team that matters who don red, white, and National Flag blue...I think we know who "America's" Team is.

When we get more national coverage and top ten clips. We certainly have a variety of characters to root for, and an animated coach......it's all there.
Ajax alley oop dunk was Sportcenter Top 10 yesterday.

I love that play. Same play Dan Hurley started the Nova game at XL with last year.

Gonzaga is America's team if all America cares about is pre-season rankings.

This is too fun. Is there a Gonzaga board we can merge this thread with?

It was fun when UConn soccer was "America's Team" back in the 70s.
That was because we were the only successful team that had American players.

I mean, in the tournament I'd pull for Gonzaga over just about any other team that has history, and I definitely pulled for them over Baylor.

You mean the team that has been to the title game twice in the last five tournaments, the elite 8 4 times in the last seven tournaments, and has gone to the Sweet 16 seven straight times?

Spokane is not really much more distant from the Canadian border than Syracuse. If the Orange has another losing season and Boeheim doesn't retire, I see a real an opportunity for them to make a play for National Team status.

The Zags are the team that will win it all when Bill Walton becomes their "head" coach.

This highlights the value of a high seed, and Few has an admirable record of getting that job done, including as their OOC has gotten increasingly more challenging.

Also...

Syracuse: 1>0

They're going to get one soon if Few stays there. Winning a title is hard. but since our last title they haven't missed a Sweet 16, and they've made 3 E8s and 2 title games. Hard to suggest they're flaming out.

1990’s
2000’s
2010’s
2020’s?

Idk if any team has won a title 4 straight decades. And we might be able to hold a banner with our 3rd coach in that same timeline…

Also… I’m not rooting for Marc Few. He’s had his issues off the court.
