Screw it I'm putting both Kemba and Shabazz in the lineup I can't put one above the other.

G Shabazz 14
G Kemba 11
C Emeka 04
F Caron 02
F Rip 99

Its just getting harder and harder putting together an all-time uconn lineup of course I'm leaving out Ray, Ben, Donyell etc.

Toby Kimball and Donyell Marshall would give Caron a run at power forward. I would put both ahead of him.

And pick either Bazz or Kemba at PG because Ray Allen is the shooting guard.

Well that was my thinking too I'm was pretty much just picking my Mount Rushmore of Uconn greats and not thinking of it by position, and as many stars we have had we also have had a lot of great glue guys like Rashad, Adrien, Giffey, Ricky, Jake, Freeman, Ollie and so on.

Can't we just put Ray at the 3, Rip at the 4, and play small ball ?
1- Bazz
2- Kemba
3- Ray
4- Rip
5- Emeka

Small ball worked for us in the tourney

It's really really really hard to kick any of these 5 out. Trust any one of them 1-4 with the last shot and Oak to be there for the putback. Assuming the requirement of a more traditional lineup, for me, Bazz's two rings give the slightest rch's difference between him and Ray.

1. Kemba
2. Bazz
3. Rip
4. Donyell
5. Emeka

+1 I know they didn't win it all but the team with Donyell and Ray was SICK.

Cliff over Adrien and I can buy that starting five. Then Burrell, Hamilton, El Amin, Gordon, Thabeet, and Donyell off the bench. For me its big that Freeman isn't in the rotation. KF may be my absolute favorite Husky
G - Shabazz Napier 14'
G - Kemba Walker 11'
G/F - Ray Allen 96'
F - Jeff Adrien 09'
C - Emeka Okafor 04'

How about a Depth Chart:

1. Bazz - Kemba - KEA - C Smith - Taleik - Marcus W - Ricky
2. Ray - Ben G
3. Rip - Caron - Rudy
4. Donyell - Cliff - Adrien
5. Emeka - Thabeet - Hilton - Boone

I know i must be missing quite a few.....but holy moly we have a lot of really good players !!!!!!!!

Chris Smith because he was PG 2 start this
Ray Allen- SG
Rip-SF
Donyell - PF
Emeka - C

Since we won this tournament with 3 guards Smitn is in, but like Calhoun, he get the quick hook, get in their Shabazz 2 rings over Kemba 1

I remember doing these lists about 5 years ago and there as a debate for PG between Taliek, AJ and Marcus for PG. Now those three really aren't in the conversation and you have to choose between Kemba and Napier.

My list if I could take them at their conclusion of their NCAA career:
PG Napier (just think he fits better - doesn't need to score but can), Kemba
SG Ray, Ben
SF Rip, Caron
PF Donyell, Cliff
C Emeka, Thabeet (Thinking Brimah surpasses Thabeet in 2 more years)

3 more to round out 13 spots: Ricky (you can always use a stopper), Adrien (need to have an enforcer), Anderson (and you can always use an assassin on your team)

The last three might not be the next 3 best players of all time, but they were specialists that could be used for specific situations. Can't believe I have to leave Lamb off this list.

And just for a fun thought, imagine having Napier, Kemba, Ben, Caron and Donyell on the floor together. Everyone can hit the three, handle, drive, rebound, and defend.

I never thought I'd see the day, this soon at least, where someone could supplant Kemba, who in my opinion may have climbed to the top of the Husky pyramid. You can't really argue with our first two-time champ though over him at this point. Obviously this entire exercise depends on the criteria being used - are we talking most talented? Most talented while at UConn? Or biggest contribution at UConn?

For my money, I still think Junior Kemba > Senior Shabazz, but that is a very close call now, which is also crazy.

I always value championships above all- so I go with the Bazz, Kemba, Rip, Donyell, Emeka lineup. (by this theory I could have gone K Free, but Donyell was a force, early tourney exit or not).

But if you're constructing the best cohesive team, of the best talent, while at UConn - I think it goes Kemba, Ray, Rip, Donyell, Emeka. Who the hell beats that team? Very fun debate though.

Think about these lists, and then think about the fact that Kemba and Napier actually did share a backcourt and that 2011 team looks even better in retrospect.

Smith doesn't belong in the starting PG conversation.

PG -- Kemba
SG -- Allen
C -- Emeka
PF -- Donyell
SF -- Rip

Nine man rotation includes Shabazz, Caron as a SF/PF, Cliff Robinson as a PF/C, and Smith as a combo guard.

It's really hard to pick between Shabazz and Kemba. I think Kemba at his peak is a better player but if you're looking for a point guard to run things your preference is Shabazz. Really tough call.

Ones missing

1. AJ, Boatright could be a top 10 pg all-time of Uconn
3. Lamb, Giffey, Rashad
4. Freeman
5. Jake

And I'm definitely missing a few too

Not your favorite players CT, the All Time team. No way can anyone take Jeff ahead of Donyell ever. And Bazz and Kemba were great but can't have both…………but that is much more realistic than Jeff over any of the list that includes Yell, Caron, Corny, Freeman, Cliffy…………love what he's done but didn't do it quite like any of those guys…………..

But like everyone said, man it's tough to pick all time as a Husky fan, nearly impossible to have everyone nearly on the same page.
