ACC Regular season, 2023

Coach Brooks is everything He finds players that trust in him and want to play for him and he gets communities to rally around those kids

Gotta be the #1 Play of the Year in the ACC. So much joy among the young ladies. Brings a tear to my eye.

That was a massive defensive break down. 2 players went with the screener, leaving last year's ACC POY (and possible repeat this year) all by herself.

And just before conference tournament time. Yikes.

I agree it's not a good look.

Free me?
Didn't she choose to leave MD for VT?

Notre Dame dug down deep for this one. Miles went out with an injury and down 9 at the half. Citron was huge, and good contributions from Bransford and Prosper.

Louisville's offense was really bad in the 2nd half. Last I saw they were shooting 25% and it probably got worse. Hailey Van Lith scored 23 but missed a ton of shots.

SONIA CITRON "MUST" be on the 1st Team ALL ACC Team. If not, someone who didn't vote for her, knows nothing about Collegiate D1 Women's Basketball

There was a strange call in this one. Ebo bulldozed Robinson, but she was just trying to run down a rebound and couldn't stop her momentum. They called it "excessive contact" but it certainly didn't warrant a technical foul I didn't think.

Hailey Van Lith took one heck of an elbow directly to the nose. Took quite a while to stop the bleeding before she could re-enter the game. I'd be shocked if it's not broken.

This game (as it was in the game at Notre Dame) was a tough and roughly contested game, with both teams being very aggressive both in the paint as well as in the perimeter. "Chippy Play" from both Louisville and Notre Dame players.

I was confused about that as well. The only thing I'd guess is the "rationale" was the arm contact above the shoulders. But how could she avoid it based on her momentum?

Was expecting it to be very physical. Have a feeling we'll see more of this during the ACC conference tournament from all the teams. Should be very entertaining.

Clemson takes down Florida St., NC State survives a close one with Pitt.

Would VA Tech take the #2 seed in the ACC tourney away from Duke if they beat GA Tech today?

Huge win today for the Irish, especially to come back after Miles’ injury. Citron and KK Bransford were incredible handling Louisville’s press despite neither one being a pg.

Ivey deserves a lot credit for navigating this team. There have been doubters, questioning whether she would be able to lead ND back to “glory” and even some comparing her to Warlick

Remember, the one Irish are only a few seasons removed from what was arguably their worst season ever (cue Plebe’s gif of Muffet throwing her hands up in exasperation) and now they’re ACC champs again. Ivey is only going to continue improving as a coach.

I can see this wasn't the best to come to look for sympathy
You are all right in my book, Triaddukefan. I was just pullin’ ya leg and bustin’ ya chops. I thought for sure that Duke was going to win the ACC. They let a lot of us Husky fans down, today. I’m a big fan of Lawson and the players. I just don’t like the Devil. :D

The Louisville-Notre Dame game was a lot of fun to watch, especially as a Canadian fan. Merissah Russell and Cassandre Prosper both had great games. The Capital Courts program in Ottawa, ON knows how to develop talent. They sometimes get overlooked as Crestwood gets a lot of attention, but they do a good job developing players.

Sorry @triaddukefan , but Banghart owns Lawson. Maybe she'll beat Carolina eventually?

Friday Night, mark it down. If not, I might have a police escort out of the Greensboro Coliseum.:eek:

Man what a brutal loss for Duke. I turned it on at 36-29 Duke and it was all UNC the rest of the way. Hope @triaddukefan is hanging in there.

I was warming up lunch, and getting the Apple Cider ready, but alas... had to put the Cider back under the sink. Didn't even feel like eating my lunch. I'm just glad I didn't attend the game in person... heard that Chapel Hill was pretty classless after the game.

I thought so too, but seems like our players get too amped up when they face Chapel Hill. I actually didn't get to see the game due to blackout rules, but listened to it on the radio. Taylor had an awful game, just like she did in the first meeting. She will get her chance on Friday to redeem herself.

Oh yeah..Blue Devils are the good kind.... Blue Demons are the bad kind. :D
