interesting night in the state of NC. Duke got dismantled from the tip, but UNC somehow choked a game they had in hand to NC st.

we mighta slept on Vtech, Owusu only played 4 min but this team still is going to be top 10 ranked. Incredible job by the hc

Actually, looking at my ACC predictions.. I picked them to finish 3rd... right where they currently stand.

Cuse takes Miami, Canes fall a game behind Florida St. and Louisville and 1 1/2 back of VA Tech in the fight for 3rd place.

NC State had only 7 players available against Virginia Tech; Diamond Johnson is being held out indefinitely until her ankle is completely healed. It is hoped she's back for the ACCT.

Our other point guard, Saniya Rivers, also was not available, due to an "upper body injury" suffered against UNC on Thursday. She was poked in the eye and is still experiencing blurry vision.

So, there was no point guard available against the Hokies. Credit to the Wolfpack Women for digging deep and keeping the margin of defeat respectable against a much deeper ball club.

Best thing that could happen, at this point, is for the season to end. We have the #4 recruiting class coming in for next season, the highest-ranked recruiting class ever for NC State, and hopefully, next season won't feature all of the drama and injuries the 2022-23 season has featured.

  • NC State at Duke will keep @triaddukefan very busy and away from the kitchen. Duke allows less than 50 ppg at home. Whew. If Dookies win, chill the chardonnay.
  • Va. Tech at UNC. ACC Hoops crew is wondering if Alyssa Utsby is back. If so, different UNC. Still, Va. Tech has won the last few of the meetings.
  • Miami goes to Louisville. Not sure Hurricanes have the depth to hang with Louisville into the 4th, but if they get hot, who knows?
  • ND should come out aggressively like they did against Pitt and get into a track meet with Ga. Tech.

I thought NC State vs Duke was on ACCN at 8 tonight?

Louisville prevails 71-57. Hailey Van Lith w/ 25 points but I think I'm giving the game ball to Robinson. Career high 12 points on 6-9 shooting, 9 rebounds, 7 assists and her usual whirlwind defense. She's the ultimate glue player.

Gave the Wolves something to snack on, enough for the whole Pack.

Kitley with the cold blooded dagger, jumper at the buzzer to beat Carolina.

Kitley also broke the VT career scoring record. That didn't last very long for Sheppard.

Nice shot by Kitley but what a defensive lapse to leave her wide open. Might want to guard the conference POY.

Just a simple screen and they completely lost her.

I thought their defense was bad on several inbound plays in the closing seconds of the game.

Yes, it's also kind of hard to lose her.

I believe the NCAA will allow WBB teams to increase assistants to 5 (from 3). If so, Coach Walz might move a few staffers up and could find room for Mykasa on staff. She has to be his alter ego on the court, IMHO. Louisville is playing so much better since he put her in the starting lineup.

Shouldn't this say "put her back in the starting lineup"?;) Never understood why she was coming off the bench personally, but I'm biased as I've been a fan of her play since she joined the team.

I get some of the incoming transfers were better scorers, but she exemplifies the standard Walz expects out of his players. That's way more valuable especially in a conference like the ACC.

I don't know if I'd consider her Walz's alter ego though. That doesn't do her justice in my opinion. She's definitely the heart of the team because of how they perform when she's on the court.

This Sunday's rematch with ND is going to be something, especially with it being Louisville's Senior Day.

I get your point, but this is not levied lightly. More so than Hailey Van Lith (who is a scorer at heart), Robinson gets what needs to be done on the court and executes it. Yes, she's the "heart" of the team, but I'm also saying she's the "head."

And, yes, the Sunday game will be something. Expect pure-red looney tunes at noon. Miles is ready for it and very aware she hasn't won at Yum (0-2). For me, I think the key is to see ND keep its head, execute and go at it best as they can. If they win, superb. If not -- but give it their best -- learn and move onto the ACC where they're now (at least) the #2 seed.
