ACC & BIG SOUTH 2022-23

Maybe I'm a bit bias after watching a lot of the 3 on 3 this summer, but I really liked what I saw from utsby. She's pretty athletic (can dunk) and is almost like a 3/4. She was really good last season as a sophomore and I just like her versatility the most. So I'd put her at 1 and then Jada Boyd at 2. Not sure if NC State could be a top 2 seed like they've been recently, but with her coming back I don't think being a top 10 team is out of the question. She's going to get major minutes. Then I'd put Maddy at 3, Soule at 4 and Jones at 5. I like Soule. She's super athletic and plays with a huge motor being undersized. I just worry, worry isn't even the right word, but her fit will be interesting on v tech. Similar to u I haven't seen Jones game enough. But it's all preference on my end, the list is good.
Wow............she's ahead of Boyd in your opinion? I'll have to see if I can find footage as I don't remember her being that impactful during the tournament.

I get your concern about the fit at VT for Soule, but I think Brooks will utilize her properly. Their roster has had bad luck with forwards after Baines transferred. Now it seems like he has more depth and I believe Soule will help get Kitley freed up a bit more.

Yeah...I think most of those "4s" are guards.

All these players played the 4 despite the 4 not being their natural position. These rankings show that most ACC teams don't have traditional lineups.

Always interesting to see which players the Coaches decide to bring to this event

Surprised Richardson is getting the nod ahead of Day-Wilson considering her season last year. And you know how I feel about her ;)

Maybe they are saving Day-Wilson for the Canadian media days. :D I knew Taylor would be there, figured the other would be either Balogun or DeJesus. Not sure what all goes into those decisions. You see Georgia Tech has two transfers coming.

I hear you. Just thought they'd want to have their FOY on hand to help with the hype for the upcoming season.

Georgia Tech is bringing 2 transfers? I wonder how well that sits with the returning players?

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see another team or two show up on the list before all is said and done.

Is it possible to dislike my own post ??

I don’t see Duke finishing that low, I think they’ll be the surprise of the conference.

I also don’t think VPI will finish #2, if ND and NC State players remain healthy they will finish higher.
I also believe UNC will beat them.

Maybe it's just me, but I am not completely sold on Louisville. Making up for Smith, Hall, and Engstler's production on both ends of the court is going to be tough. I know they bring in transfers Carr and Jones, but Engstler seemed like the glue player for them. Hailey Van Lith and Cochran are going to need to make major jumps IMO. No doubt they are a top 15 team and top 5 in the ACC, I just don't see them winning the ACC with the depth of teams they have in the conference. Walz is an excellent coach and he certainly can prove me wrong though.

I feel like 1-5 are one tier and 6-10 are almost another tier. But like the gap between each team in each tier is relatively small. If someone said Louisville would finish 5 and UNC would finish first I wouldn't be surprised. I guess I would be surprised if Miami finished 10th but I wouldn't be if Syracuse finished 6 or 7. Although I don't see it with NC State but I know a lot of people are high on them. On the flip side I could see Duke sliding up if they are healthy and they get big time contributions from their freshman.

What am I missing concerning rhat school in chapel hill that everyone else seems so high on? There are definitely five, possibly six schools that i think are better than them in the conference.

As far as Duke, the additions of Richardson, Brown, and Corosdale alone will make us a better team. The freshman will greatly enhance our depth if they perform as expected. Ill get me first look at them Saturday.

Carr wasn't close to being the best player on Syracuse offensively or defensively.
Hyman was by far the best player, and Fair coming in is a much better player then Carr.

For me it’s a combination of the returning players, Banghart, and giving South Carolina their toughest test in last years NCAA tournament.
