I'd be pretty surprised if UConn and Providence didn't split Abu and Chukwu. I realize they play different positions, but with Nolan, Facey, and Brimah in the fold at UConn, and Derocsiers and Henton at Providence, I'd assume they'd fight for minutes initially. I realize Florida is in the mix for Abu, but I think they'll end up with Black.

As for Terrell and Abu, wasn't it reported just last week that a package deal looked unlikely? UConn's going to get a visit with Abu and I don't think Ollie will let him leave without a verbal.

i think they get both. i no longer doubt cooly as a recruiter, for whatever reason kids seem to like him. all i know is he has put lots of time into abu and chuckwu and i think they like him. hope its not the case though, would like to land abu, and would love to land chuckwu. though i'm more concerned about pg.

I think we get Abu, but even if we whiff on both I'll be fine with it if we sign a big time PG prospect and/or Devin Robinson.

Abu, Chukwu - Huskies

Perkins - Huskies

Surprise - Oubre - Huskies

I've had a strange optimistic feeling about Oubre too. Idk why. Then again, I remember having that same feeling about Brandon Knight and he chose UK. On the plus side I had a good feeling about Drummond but I think he was pretty much an obvious UConn lock.

it was a tweet from a URI source which some misunderstood as the other schools apply

Wonder if Florida is still recruiting Abu.
Going to go out on a limb here and say that they are still recruiting him. Don't think he would have a school in his top 4 when they aren't recruiting him anymore.

Abu is a devout Muslim. You think his religion could turn him away from PC?

If it were, PC would not have made it to the final four in his selection. My guess would be that he would make sure any school he chooses would not impede his beliefs. A good recruiter would make sure that he can, and address it with him before he even asked.

No idea if we'll get Abu, but I do think it's more likely they go their separate ways at this point. I mean, if it's truly a deal breaker and these 2 kids just absolutely, positively have to play together, why even go through the formality of narrowing your lists to 4 schools with only 1 in common. Just commit to that school. Abu does not seem like the type of personality who would string things along for no reason.

I can see Terrell to URI and Abu to UCONN or PC.

Well I think the answer to your question is that playing together is not a deal breaker. They've said all along that if it happens, it happens.

Can't say the joint press conference is a good sign for us. Or a press conference in general for that matter. When's the last time a kid held one of those "put four hats on the table" press conferences and chosen Uconn?

Press conferences never worked out for Jim Calhoun. New era under Kevin Ollie.

I agree the joint press conference doesn't look good, but why go through all of this if they already know they want to go to PC together?

i agree, maybe they just want to make sure they're making the right choice?

I don't like getting the 1st visit out of the allotted schools.
