its funny watching everyone fall all over themselves in a effort to get into such a low margin business.

the casinos in vegas took out their books or outsourced them because they were a waste of space and effort

article today on how delaware is the only state getting near the numbers people tossed around

the unmet demand people thinks exists isnt there - and the ‘legal’ options are garbage in comparison

Interesting...sounds like a lot of businesses that government chases...like the craze to build convention halls in the 80s and 90s.

More money is spent on gambling than sports or concerts. America's true pastime.

The idea of a secretly hostile takeover for technology is not a far-fetched idea.

Hard to believe this is how the AAF goes down. Must be the worst way to end any football league. ThebUSFL collapsed because of Trump wanting to compete directly with the NFL in hopes of a merger. I'd rather have a league fail because of Trump's ego than someone wanting to buy gambling technology.

Showtime's new series "Start Up League" just writes itself: Clip from episode 12:

"Everybody wanted to play out the season and everybody is disappointed," Spurrier said, per the Orlando Sun-Sentinel. "Everyone was led to believe that the Alliance was well-funded and we could play three years without making any money and this, that and the other. Obviously, everything that was said was not very truthful."

Later that night the coach will break into league HQ to steal the trophy of the bankrupt league...which subsequently in the next episode will be repossessed by villain banker character inspired heavily by Mark Cuban.

Hope Ricky puts down that weed and takes note. The Freedom Football League now may have a better chance to see the light of day.

The Hartford Colonials lasted a full season, at least.

This was Fyre festival all over again. Could see this grift from a mile away. Funniest part is Dick Ebersol gets Charlie in touch with Vince McMahon, Charlie stabs Vince in the back, Vince waits for the league to fail and raids it, Vince's league will also fail.

Charlie is already fighting a lawsuit, I sense there may be more coming...

Never realized this but the AAF trophy... should have been... an unloved trophy left on a sideline in East Hartford

I heard the Trophy was hidden away at some Directional Louisiana school.

The Ebersol legacy is now two failed football leagues.

It really sounds to me that they started the league with a great idea that had a ton of potential to succeed. They were just missing a key part, money to pay all the players....kind of an important part.

Then a savior comes in but asks for something he basically knows won't happen. The AAF isn't at fault on that part. That's the dick owner from Carolina who pulled that one. However, the AAF plays a role because had they actually had the money aspect planned out, they wouldn't have needed this guy to start with.

Too bad all around. Seemed like a legit league for college players to get a second chance to show their talents for NFL teams. I'd watch this over that crap the XFL will be any day

Well the dick owner decided losing massive amounts of cash was a dick move for his own household.

Seems like the league desperately needed a partnership deal with NFL for a lifeline that wasn't happening...or a TV deal with cash that wasn't happening.

And I bet they massively miss-budgeted certain expenses when they sketched it all out...like insurance/legal/marketing.

Next.

No they don't. The AAF did not have a champion. Stop counting fake things as championships.

Somebody ought to tell UCF the same thing.

We'd probably be better off with the XFL. Now Vince has the blueprint to play competent football. Vince is setting up his league as Triple A leagues in sports are doing now, teams close to the top clubs. Hartford might want to jump on that and become a minor league affiliate of the Patriots.

On another note, where is Johnny Manziel going to find employment now? I suppose he can try the German Football League for now. They have a team called the New Yorker Lions. Cringe-worthy.

They owe UCF a million for the stadium lease they have never made a payment on.

And wow Charlie - go drown in a toilet.
