I like having a smaller Pg off the bench to up tempo and bring the handle too.Post/handle
SI screenshot his socials this afternoon where he says "Never wearing another college jersey. 13 in purple and white forever."He needs to get a medical waiver which they say is doubtful in the podcast.
Going to an A10 program makes a lot of sense for the kid but does allude to the fact his HS rating wasn’t reflective.FWIW, Richmond Times Dispatch this morning.
UConn's Nowell, Oregon's Tracey to visit VCU
According to sources, UConn rising sophomore guard Ahmad Nowell is scheduled to visit VCU on Monday, and Oregon senior guard / forward Jadrian Tracey is scheduled to visit on Tuesday.
I didn’t know that Smith’s idol was Kemba Walker and thus his dream school UConn. I feel very good with this one after seeing this.
Secret secret hush hush... We're not allowed to know about it or talk about itAny update on a potential Smith visit? Things seem awfully quiet on the recruiting/roster front for UConn past two days.
Is the starting wing the potential AK replacement? If so why not a starting PF? If we bring in a starting wing that means Stew is the starting PF but then we don’t have a solid backup for him. We’d need someone better than a 3rd string 4/5.Yeah I think we need 3 more players, backup PG, starting wing, and a 4/5 combo to be the 3rd string C. That would put the roster at 12 which seems like the number Hurley has targeted in the past
I think we already have the starting wing between Stewart and Mullins. I think if Karban doesn’t come back we will get a one for one replacement skillset wise but maybe more athletic. Then the third player will be a 3rd string Center similar to Singare. I agree on the backup PG who I think will be Smith.Yeah I think we need 3 more players, backup PG, starting wing, and a 4/5 combo to be the 3rd string C. I'm hoping the starting wing just ends up being Karaban and not a Karaban replacement, but yes. In my hypothetical that wing is a 3/4 so him and Stewart covering the minutes at the 4 spot.Is the starting wing the potential AK replacement? If so why not a starting PF? I think the confusion came from calling karaban a wing rather than a forward or stretch 4I'm hoping the starting wing just ends up being Karaban and not a Karaban replacement, but yes. In my hypothetical that wing is a 3/4 so him and Stewart covering the minutes at the 4 spot.
I just think Stewart's best position is the 4 so if we have a chance to maximize his minutes there it makes sense. Not at the expense of the best talent though
I think his best position is is the 3 and he hasn't had sufficient opportunity to play the. He slimmed down coming out of high school for his freshman season and that unleash more slashing athletic bounciness to attack the rim than the undersized 4 who took advantage of his extra weight to bully high schoolers in the bounce.I'm hoping the starting wing just ends up being Karaban and not a Karaban replacement, but yes. This might mean Karaban isn’t coming back and Stewart will play the 4.Last time UConn had a Watts on the team it went quite well
I agree. Have to wonder what this means for Karaban, considering the 3/4 next year is either Stewart/Karaban or (Mullins/Transfer)/Stewart.This would work. He and stew would be interchangeable at both F spots.
Strong disagree there, with Karaban here he's been playing the 3 for the majority of his minutes. Next breakout is J Stew filling up the score sheet as a 3.
Karaban comes back to play the 4 or we bring in a player to fill that role.
I understand the disagreement. He's played the 3 and shown flashes. In hoping we see consistency and confidence moving forward.Strong disagree there, with Karaban here he's been playing the 3 for the majority of his minutes. I still want Karaban back though
