2025 Transfer Portal - UConn Interest Only

He is 6'11" he can block shots, can pass and rebound. What more do you want? He's playing a needed role. Reibe is a freshman and may take some time to adjust to college ball. Reed, we know what he can do and should be much better this coming season and will get the majority of the center minutes. Agreed, Florida Atlantic competition is not the same as The BIG East , but if you can get half of his stats, it's still fills the void. Pikings are slim now.
I think Miller is starting at the 4 if we get him. He will play spot minutes at Center but I'm sure it will be limited and not impede Reibe in getting minutes.

Is there anything behind the Darrion Williams rumors other than the social media follows?

On the surface, it’s kind of funny how similar the box scores averages are

Karaban - 6’8 225, 14.5 PPG, 5.3 RPG, 2.7 APG, 44/34/82 shooting

Williams - 6’6 225, 15.1 PPG, 5.4 RPG, 3.7 APG, 44/33/84 shooting
Their shooting percentages are similar but maybe that's because AK had so many bad games after the concussion.

I don't think he would start if we get him. Though he would definitely get minutes at the 4 and would see some time at the 5. Reibe will play, you just don't know with him since it will be his 1st year of college ball. Not all come in like Clingan.

We aren't going to be paying him big money to come off the bench and he won't come here if that is what we envision. He is a Sr. and wants to play starter minutes for a bigger team. If we are looking at bench depth with him we won't get him.

Just watched his highlight tape. He’d be an interesting chess piece on offense and a huge upgrade on defense. Would definitely start if AK is gone

He looks like a more athletic AK. Shot it the same from 3 like Alex, blocks shot similar to Alex and has trouble scoring off the dribble similar to Alex and good passer similar to Alex. Though he is a lot better running the court and has some back to basket skills that Alex doesn't.

The only thing I worry about is floor spacing with Reed on the floor but I trust the staff will figure that out

He can space the floor and doesn't need to score inside but offers us another person who can get points inside when hard to get. He gets most of his points from jump shooting.

If no AK, this should be our guy. And sounds like the staff is all over it. No way he comes here to sit

He reminds me of Junior year Deandre Daniels, but a bit taller. Shot form and release, shot creation moves, athleticism, and rebounding all remind me. They happen to have very similar stats as juniors

Reed was a Michigan starter and came to UConn to be in rotation with Johnson having the inside track as the starter. If the kid sees any value in winning and pursuing the final four, he could easily accept competing for a rotational role on a team with Alex as the starter. With Alex, a player like him is the missing piece to chasing the championship. That could easily be an appealing enough pitch with Hurley's credibility. We also have Darius Adams NIL freed up to work with. I think Alex will come back and we will still push here.

Baba Miller checks a lot of boxes in an AK replacement.

Experienced.
Stretches the floor a bit.
Good passer, pretty low turnover relative to playmaking.
Can protect the rim from the 4, 7' in shoes.
Good finisher.
High talent/upside. Has improved his offensive rating each season while also increasing usage.
Had the best defensive metrics on his team by a significant margin.

Main negative is his "okay shooting" might be a mirage. Poor FT shooting his whole career. He was also one level down last season in competition.
He even has some wiggle for a big man

Love the optimism but Reed was a junior with 2 years left. Hurley also prob sold him on splitting minutes with SJ at the 5. Miller is a senior and would be competing with Alex and Stew for PT at the 4 and Reed and Reibe at the 5. I would also think Adams was going to make less than most guys on the roster. Doubt how far his NIL will go in a bidding war with BYU and Lville. If we get either we’re preseason #1 never mind both

Not loving Miller, sorry. Florida Atlantic competition is not Big East competition. I don't want another AM portal miss. Just my opinion.

If he were to join UConn next season, Miller’s ceiling and potential would be much higher. With only one year of eligibility remaining, his next stop could define his future, and the Huskies are right in the mix. Still, with other top-tier programs circling, UConn will need more than interest to secure Miller’s signature. NIL $$$ needs to be real good. Him or Sean Stewart, please!
NIL ? What's that ? /s

Miller has offers from everybody. He isn't coming to be a reserve.
Hurley is telling him “we will let you know your PT after Alex makes his decision to come back which might not be until mid May or June, but come here anyway.”
There are schools guaranteeing him his role right now.

Former Duke and Ohio State 4 star PF Sean Stewart entered the portal Tuesday. 6'9" and reportedly an eye-popping athlete. Has two years eligibility.

Alex isn’t waiting until May to make a final decision; whatever he decides in the coming days, that decision is final. There’s no test the waters and maybe come back, if he goes, he’s gone. Roster make up will be clear in the next few days. But, I do wish we had a decision already.

Alex has already been noted on saying his decision to go NBA will be final by the deadline. He isn't going to test the waters like last time.
