2024 Coaching Carousel gets an early start…

I don't blame them. Look at what Mora is faced with and if we continue to be successful, will be faced with each season. We lost one of our top RB and our top WR to the portal and now he's gotta hope he can hit again with his next crop of transfers. Practically rebuilding each season but being expected to win with that rebuild is insane.

Mora dealt with this in the NFL and the college coaches are dealing with this for the first time and some don't want to change their ways.

Why in the portal era is it taking Napier so long?

Because he sucks.

You have no argument.
Florida lost to Texas, Georgia, Tennessee, A&M, & Miami ( a combined record of 54-12).
They ended the season on a high note, winning their last 3 against LSU, Ole Miss and FSU (who sucked)
You're entitled to your opinion, but I think Napier did a very good job this season.

Clawson was traumatized by losing a QB to Notre Dame.

I think Mora is a bit more immune to this.

If you want to keep coaching at this level then you better take a stoic approach and deal with it.

The portal is the way, NIL is the way. That line from the Mandalorian doesn’t mean what most people think it does.

In the NFL players have contracts and most aren’t guarsnteed so you can cut at any time.

This is far more complicated — you’re stuck with the players during the season (no cutting) but after the season it’s a free for all for the entire roster (no contracts).

Yes, there are differences, but you have ~100 kids on a college roster so instead of being cut during the season in college, they would be buried on the depth chart. And, you can't just cut players in the NFL as you have to consider the salary cap limitations. What is similar to the NFL is that every team has a salary cap (self determined to some extent), players on other teams are scouted, players make "free agent" visits after the season, and you need a GM to manage everything.

Crazy Washington St lost their coach to Wake Forest, but the Pac-12 is a G6 conference now. So I guess going to Wake gives more stability.

Mora could be a candidate for Washington State

Huh?
I don't see another G6 as attractive enough to lure him, except maybe something in Colorado or SoCal where he has lived before. And certainly not ultra boonies, Washington.

The local airport has THREE gates. Offering puddle jumpers to Seattle and Boise only. Or you can make the 90 minute drive to the "big" airport in Spokane.

I thought that Coach Mora had a place in Sun Valley Idaho. It would not be far-fetched for him to move based on that fact but I hope that isn't a factor. It is still 400 miles away from Pullman.

Why are we discussing how west coast schools are closer to his home so he might leave? I'm pretty sure he's pretty darn happy here and has no reason to leave! Let's not talk about something that is non-existent
