Since you llke to tell everyone on here that you know more about football than everyone else, I am sure you know if a coach starts out strong and starts to fade…maybe he is just winning with the prior coaches players. And if a coach improves over time maybe it’s because he is now winning with his players and got rid of the prior coaches players.

Now that Napier has gotten rid of Mullen’s players, he has no excuses. But I wouldn’t call Mullen a success at Florida because he had two good seasons with another coach’s players.

he lost those games with MULLEN’s players. which is my point. Mullen is not a good recruiter…he won games with McElwain’s players. When the players Mullen recruited were juniors and seniors they lost. As you say…”this is easy”. Napier had to clear out Mullen’s players and now he is doing better. I still dont know if he will do well enough to keep his job at Florida..we will see.

We lost one of our top RB and our top WR to the portal and now he's gotta hope he can hit again with his next crop of transfers. Practically rebuilding each season but being expected to win with that rebuild is insane.

Mora dealt with this in the NFL and the college coaches are dealing with this for the first time and some don't want to change their ways.

Florida lost to Texas, Georgia, Tennessee, A&M, & Miami ( a combined record of 54-12).
They ended the season on a high note, winning their last 3 against LSU, Ole Miss and FSU (who sucked)

Clawson was traumatized by losing a QB to Notre Dame.

I think Mora is a bit more immune to this.

If you want to keep coaching at this level then you better take a stoic approach and deal with it.
