2024 Coaching Carousel gets an early start…

NIL, Budget and a MAC Championship to play for. They have plenty to more to offer as part of a conference now.
I'm curious if some Rutgers players come over with Joe to UMass. Some young guys who haven't seen any time or realize they may not be noticed. Those guys could really make hey in the MAC and end up back in the B1G.

Amherst campus is so beautiful too. It can be a real selling point. Was for me when I was applying to grad schools.
Sorry to say but UCONN is far more beautiful and the real star of New England public ed.
UMASS will ALWAYS be a little sister to UCONN.
Outside of New England, UMASS is totally irrelevant and has little to no brand equity. UCONN, on the other hand, has a MASSIVE BRAND.
Not a UMASS fan in the least. They are totally IRRELEVANT.

UMass is a total rebuild as they recognized 54 players (not a misprint) on senior day and they signed 4 on signing day. The question is how does Harasymiak want to rebuild the roster?

40-24 and gets fired. High expectations.
Actually App State does have fairly high expectations for their program at least within their conference/level. Not too surprised by this move.

Regardless of what UMass or anyone else does, UConn needs to keep upping the investments. Hopefully it pays off in the future.

There is only one way at this point in the near term. They are set for a few years or incredible roster turnover.

It’s a nice place to work as would be most college campuses
Yeah I was consider trying get a professor job when I graduated, but I decided to not follow the path of polymer science which UMass is one of if not the best in the country.

Great hire on their part. An excellent coach pretty much back where he belongs.
Damn, I like this guy but he us becoming a bit of a vagabond. I think he is a really, really underrated head coach but come on. New job every 2 years jumping around.

We would have met. I work with Conte labs regularly

Except, facts may not support misperception Mendenhall’s jumped around every 2 years.

2005-15 BYU head coach
2016-21 UVA head coach, potentially higher comp, middling success, coaching burnout rumors, and/or reportedly spouse and Mendenhall alike weren’t thrilled in Charlottesville
2022-23 recharged batteries?
2024 UNM head coach, back west, historically not so successful nor well funded program, MWC left behind school.
2025 Utah State, return to home state, recently more successful program than UNM, potentially better funded Utah State, new Pac X. Happier wife, happier life?
