In a later game today, Bishop McNamara positively killed Archbishop Carroll. The final was 72-27, but the halftime score was 40-6. McNamara started the game on a 20-point run. They have the #17 recruit (in 2019 headed to N.C. State), an unranked recruit headed to Mississippi State, and the #20 player from 2020. They are big, athletic, and aggressive. They play Paul VI (Ashley Owusu) tomorrow. The likely final on Monday will be between two of the top-6 teams in the nation. It will take a big effort from Azzi and her teammates to beat McNamara for the third time this season.

The Semis and Finals will be streamed on First Ammendment Sports YouTube channel.

I’m hoping to make tomorrow’s games but one of my daughters is sick so I gotta see how she is doing tomorrow.

I love Indya Nivar out of North Carolina. She plays for the Carolina Flames organization on the EYBL circuit. The freshman has been putting up big numbers all year and is being highly recruited by everyone. I hope SC stays away. They are hot right now on the recruiting trail. The state playoffs in North Carolina will be great this year.

Thanks. I had her with 5 twos. They are probably right. She missed her last 3 shots. She was 3-3 from the arc, 1-1 from the line, and either 3-7 or 4-8 inside the arc.

Aubrey Griffin: 25 points, 8 assists, 6 steals

Ossining moves on to the section semifinals with a 96-61 victory.

Griffin did this in 19 minutes according to her head coach.

Just a quick reminder that 2021 Dominique Darius is also on that Blair squad. She is #4 in these highlights and it appears that Miles in playing more SG and Darius is playing PG.

The All-Stars includes the one and only Nika Muhl, with the playmaker a regular talking point for several years at BlueStar Media from her work with Croatia at youth level and in the WABA youth leagues, and now the WABA senior league. She has a huge future.

Azzi and SJC had their B game today. They won by about 15 and play McNamara for the title tomorrow. Paul VI gave McNamara a good game and trailed by only 3 late, before losing by about 8-10. McNamara was very tough inside, but susceptible to the 3-pointer. If Azzi is on, SJC should win. It's national #2 v. national #6.

Blair Academy lost the finals of the IE Nationals. Olivia Miles had 11 points.

how did Owusu play? I think she's going to be really good at the next level...

Ashley was pretty good. She was by far their best ball-handler, which was key against the McNamara pressure. She had a couple of nice drives to the hoop, but other drives resulted in blocked shots or dishes to others. Her shot was off, even pull-up jumpers in the lane. She also missed at least 2 FTs. Their best scoring option was drive and dish, as they had a few good spot-up shooters from the arc.

It was hard to tell who was the best player on the floor. Ashley (#5) was good at times, as were the (#17) N.C. State recruit, (unranked) Mississippi State recruit, and (#20) junior. Paul VI has lost a lot of talent in the past 2 years, as their alums are now at Tennessee and Baylor.

Ashley has a very interesting build. She's has thin lower legs, but a big (bigger than Kaleena) upper body. She's strong and surprisingly quick.
