Joseph Appiah Darkwa is a 6-5 260lb DL from Düsseldorf Germany. UConn has been flirting with him the last few weeks. He’s a PPI kid and was recently @ Rutgers. Possibly a summer 2019 class or 2020 class.

CT kids are going to UConn to play football but outside of CT and a little MA, Coach Randy and his squad doesn't put much time into bringing in other New England talent. They get lured in by star ratings, 40 times, and highlight tapes, to these kids who aren't on the radar of major programs AND who can't get a whiff from their own p5 in-state programs, yet somehow, despite all of this, because he played at DeMAtha or he's from TX and hurdled a guy he must be a freak.

WTF are you talking about? Your suggestion is if we offered the local 4/5 stars they would stay? Or is it, a 2/3 star playing Class M ball in CT is the same as one laying in MD, FL, TX? who is from Dematha? 3 of the kids signed played CT HS Football. Who did we not offer that would have gladly come here and been able to contribute at a D1 level? Or are you saying we are missing the recruiting hotbeds of NH, VT and ME? Have you seen the map showing where every kid playing in the CFP went to HS. Guess one of the areas that has very few dots?

Interesting that El Gammel out of Christ the King in NY ultimately committed to Miami after initially committing to Cincy. Big upgrade for a guy that had modest interest when he attended a UConn game during the fall.

Rating services have no clue about Canada - and the Play in Quebec and Ontario is UP huge in the last 20 years. No one scouts the combine Canada has. Maybe one kid gets to a Prep or slithers his way into Penn State summer camp. O ... it is not surprising that Zergiotis is low star.

The addition of Moore takes us to 0.52 recruiting points behind Tulsa...but our class includes to "unrated" recruits. If they ever get around to rating Winston Jules even to the level that Rivals did, we will be the #11 recruiting class in the AAC instead of #12...lol.

Justin Moore was waiting for Crocker's exit.

He had me on the first play of his highlight video, he's quick off the ball, relentless, pursues down the field, and has great size and speed combination. He's also our 2nd highest rated recruit based on 247 and Rivals. Opening Texas with our 3rd signee for this class is a huge positive also not to be overlooked.

Just sharing this snippet on Joshua Youngblood whose recruitment is gaining momentum. I think UConn sees him as a slot WR, but I could be wrong. What is clear in his film is he that has standout speed.

Post-ESD UCLA Football Recruiting Reset: Defense


Joshua Youngblood, 5-11, 170, Tampa (Fla.) Berkeley Prep

Youngblood is a Temple commit who did not sign early, and is starting to receive more attention from other programs. Kansas State is his most recent offer, and Florida State, USF, Cincinnati, and Rutgers have also shown heavy interest. The three-star athlete is a versatile player who lined up all over the formation for his high school team on offense, but also has experience at defensive back, the position that UCLA is recruiting him at. Defensive backs coach Paul Rhoads is expected to visit Youngblood once the dead period ends next month, and there is a chance that he takes one of his three remaining official visits to UCLA.
