I was in San Jose and Santa Cruz on my way to Pebble Beach. I should have stopped to watch Haley and her Mitty team.
Bueckers was 11-19 from the field, 3-3 from three. She had at least 5 assists and 4 steals.
One comment I read was that she had 6 steals in the 1st half along with all 3 of her 3's.

Our KLS replacement!!!2/16

Ceratainly not her fault but I'm always struck by the lack of competition that Brunelle is facing in these HS games. This will be Brunelle's last AAU season and USA basketball for this summer is TBD but she's going to be playing another year of HS ball and I'm just not sure if playing in this league is going to anything for developing her game.Lots of Brunelle highlights from last night (2/16):

I agree. She has a different style and size but her HS competition or lack thereof is similar to Walker's. Like Walker, there's lots of stuff she's not seeing that she'll need to learn at the college level before she would play much at UConn. The HS defenses are way too cooperative, she can get wherever she wants with no denial and doesn't have to work for position inside. For her size she's a very good ballhandler but her high, upright dribble will need adjustment. Not that she can't pick up all this stuff, she has tremendous potential, but I think her learning curve will be similar to Walker's. Certainly hope UConn can get her, she seems to have a real good competitive drive and seems to fit their kind of player.Ceratainly not her fault but I'm always struck by the lack of competition that Brunelle is facing in these HS games. Between SB's 3 pt shooting and her outstanding passes, she looks ready to step in at UCONN next year. Too bad she has one more year of HS. As I've said, she can be the new KLS and Boston can be the new AS. Just find a NC replacement (Haley Jones?) and we will have the graduating seniors (KLS, NC, AS) covered. Add those three to CD, MW, MC, BC, CW and ONO and I like that team a lot! Now we just need to GET Brunelle, Boston and Jones for that recruiting class. It might make sense, given Geno's approach with Freshman, to also fill AEH's vacant scholarship along with Brunelle/Boston/Jones for a 4 person class since we will have 4 vacant scholarships, already, for the next recruiting class (Losses of CD,MB,KI and BC). (In my dream recruiting world, at this time, I have only locked in one 2020 scholarship--Paige Bueckers)
Assuming we are done (no Ezi this year) we know our team's roster for next year. The year after that it would shake out like this:
By Class:
Seniors---CD/MB/KI/BC
Juniors---MW/MC/LG
Soph-----CW/ONO
Frosh----SB/AB/HJ/??
By Position:
4/5---ONO/BC/AB/KI
2/3---MW/CW/HJ/MB/LG/??
1------CD/MC
Swing 2/3/4---SB
Great balance by Class and Position.
What's not to love!!!

That was a tremendous play!Bueckers highlights from Friday (2/16) including 3 threes.
Pay close attention to the special play at :15 where Bueckers tips the ball loose, dribbles behind her back with her left hand, takes one dribble, and throws a no-look pass to a teammate for a layup.

45 points, 12 rebounds, 8 assists, 3 steals
She said she’s expanding her range. She’s about 5 years ahead of Tina in that regard.2/17
Aliyah Boston:
22 points, 16 rebounds, 3 assists, 4 blocks, 4 steals, 1 three
That play at 0:15 is definitely Taurasi-like. High school sophs aren’t supposed to be that advanced.Bueckers highlights from Friday (2/16) including 3 threes.

One question. Is Kylee Watson being pursued? Yes or no ??????
Just curious, but are you stating this as a fact based on an inside source or something you read?Horston is the longest shot of all because she has already sat through too many recruiting pitches where schools are telling her she is "THE WOMAN". Horston coming to UCONN to play a lesser role than "THE WOMAN" would be a very hard sales job for the UCONN staff.
Definitely not an inside source. There was a extensive discussion on the UNC board. UNC assistant coach Sylvia Crawley is related to Horston and despite that UNC has gone from favorite to not in consideration in the opinion of some posters there. Among Horston current favorites she would be the highest rated recruit since A'Ja wilson for SC and Kelsey Mitchell for the tOSU. So while I would agree that every top 20 recruit hears complimentary things hopefully you'll agree that not all top 20 recruits are gettting the "you could be a program builder" type pitches.Just curious, but are you stating this as a fact based on an inside source or something you read?
Honestly, every Top 20 national recruit is hearing the most complimentary things from all college coaches.
