Well, if we get another OL maybe there are comfortable swapping Jones from OL to DL. Still early - Early signing period in December should be interesting.

The nice thing about Jones switching to DL is that he's already the right size and it's a huge position of need.

... but he smooshes kids on o-line (granted high school kids). Saw him pull a few weeks ago and it was scary!

Harris and Eli Thomas certainly are promising. They both like to hit people. They both show burst to make the play and they both seem to be able to diagnose plays. Need more beef in front of both. Need more support behind these two.

We have three "OL" commits. Two can be swapped onto D (Jones/Maloney) based on current play/coach eval. My sense is that there will be plenty of room after post season meetings occur.

Would surprise me one bit if we're recruiting over what we already have verbally committed.... or some kids that are here now, and have eligibility left, won't be here after this season...

Well, I was thinking that maybe Rooney could be converted to D. Or maybe Maloney to a heavy - tall - redzone TE.

Niedrowski seems to be quick on the snap and Ingle has length, big frame to fill in and foot speed.

But to your point about plenty of room post season, aren't we capped at 25 slots no matter how many current guys exit the program this winter? Of course there is gray shirting, but I wouldn't like to see our program playing those games because of slots, but rather because of academics.

I've looked into that, and it seems to me the program needs to push 5 to 6 kids out with remaining eligibility in order to take in 25 kids this year.

Maloney appears to have more "versatility" than Rooney but who really knows based off selected highlight films.

TBH - I'm not the least bit worried about Randy manipulating roster to meet program needs going forward.
