CU making a change
A Colorado reporter has disputed this report, but I wouldn't be at all surprised. They've tanked after starting the season 5-0. Even still, I'm not sure what they expect to happen at Colorado. As long as they hit 6 wins they should consider it a success.
I think he’s gone the day after the season ends, FWIW. The Ethics Board seems to agree. And it’s not like he has actual recruiting class to preserve.Miles is getting $2.7mm per. Remember that when we are in our next coaching search. We can only afford retreads or coaches with no experience.
That's probably a big reason RE gets 2 more years to figure this out.
I can tell you the Kansas fans are pretty excited about Les Miles. I disagree with the post above indicating that he can't be successful at KU. Mangiano was successful not that long ago, including an Orange Bowl win and top 10 finish. Mason was successful when I was there.
KU doesn't have any more of a recruiting disadvantage than K-State, Oklahoma State or Nebraska. I think Miles will be able to recruit kids there and will bring a defensive approach that is unique in the Big 12. Beaty miscalculated thinking he could build a spread passing offense and beat the Big 12 teams at their own game.
He wasn’t able to recruit a competent QB at one of the top football schools in the country so there’s no chance he gets one at KU.
And Jamarcus Russell was good in college. That's just stupid. Are you saying he went 34-6 in the SEC without ever having a competent QB? Matt Flynn was pretty competent.

But...it is true in general, Miles teams weren't great offensively.
A state Ethics Board with hurt feelings, no teeth, and a losing deck of judicial cards? Nyet! With a lame duck university president, an AD with unclear authorization to make a change, and still on the hook to clean up his and Susie's Ollie mess, you really think "he's" gone the day after the season ends? Unlikely, but even if a change was afoot you really think there's some Spartacus way it happens without waiting for a million bucks+ discount in early Dec?I think he’s gone the day after the season ends, FWIW. With 2 years of 1-AA success on the backs of inherited recruits at Richmond and not much success with the Wahoos, Bill & Mary's hiring of London may be further evidence cats have 9 lives. He's supposed to be a good guy, well respected, etc, but time will tell with that cat's game day coaching.Former UVA Head Coach

The Ethics Board is appealing because the team’s atrocious performance has completely eroded Edsall’s political capital. It’s the canary in the coal mine.A state Ethics Board with hurt feelings, no teeth, and a losing deck of judicial cards? Nyet! I like Whipple a lot but he has had a lot of time there and you have to win or at least qualify for a minor bowl.uh, what? not sure what UMass is expecting out of their program lol I feel like Whipple has done a pretty good job there in the past two seasons
Dubious, but sadly the comic relief is appreciated. The Ethics Board is appealing because the team’s atrocious performance has completely eroded Edsall’s political capital. It’s the canary in the coal mine.
UMass playing independent is destined for failure. It'd be great if we could bring guys like this in to the program as assistants. He's got too much O knowledge and is sitting in our backyard - bring him in like Saban does with former coaches.
I’d rather keep giufre and edsallUpon reading this, I immediately thought of the possibility of Mike Foley coming back as offensive line coach.
While I wouldn't mind that, I think that Giufre has done a nice job with the young line and they look good. Then I thought that he could come in for tight ends, but that's what Corey Edsall coaches...
I’d rather keep giufre and edsall
Corey Edsall was in the post yes I didn’t say Corey sorry for the confusionEdsall wasn't part of the choice, and I would keep Giufre based on his performance too. Even though i'm probably the founding member of the Foley Fan Club...
