Listed as one of the 16 biggest steals of 2016 class on 247sports

"13. Donovan Williams, QB, Connecticut - Athletic dual-threat quarterback with size (6-3+, 210), smarts, upside, a live arm and mobility. Some feel he’s the top QB prospect in 2016 in Virginia. Versatile recruit with the ability to play QB or wide receiver on the next level. The former James Madison commit checks off on almost all of the wanted requirements on the evaluation list."

Live arm! When was the last time we had one of those?
Boyle

That is fair, was thinking in the context of a starting QB for us, Boyle def has the tools, threw some beautiful passes while in there, did not always hit our receivers though.

Don't think Boyle has the mobility Donovan Williams has. With our OL u gotta have mobility

Just messin with you Hoboken. I was specifically referring to the "live arm" comment.
I know what you mean though. Its iexciting to think about a player with all those tools.

I always want good decision making and accuracy first off with QB's. There are so many qualities that make a good QB. It's been a long time sense a UConn QB has possessed several of them.

2011 - we got both... arguable the top QB in VA and a live Arm.

"Nebrich is a prospect that you can't help but like with a riverboat gambler style and quick, live arm."

He clearly doesn't have the tools. He's shown us that.

I think it depends on your definition of "tools". I think if tools a physical attributes. With Boyle, he clearly demonstrated several times that he has high D1 arm strength and threw a beautiful ball while in there. He also has high D1 body type and size for a pro style attack. Where Tim never seemed to make the jump was on the mental side of the game: decision making and accuracy. None of our coaches were able to get through to him in that regard: hopefully someone at EKU can, the kid was a good soldier for UConn football and I wish him nothing but success at EKU or wherever he ends up.

What's your crusade in knocking this kid? He's moving on, we should to. Kid had a lot go against him during his time here and didn't sulk. Hope he blows up somewhere during his last year.
No crusade. He just wasn't the QB this team needed.

I think over the past 4+ years all our kids caught a tough break. Whoever moved before their eligibility expired I hope you they all have/had success wherever they finish(ed) they're playing careers

I hope we don't see Harbaugh knocking on our doorstep taking our recruits again. These next few weeks are going to be a sign of whether or not Diaco can truly recruit throughout the recruiting period to until the very end, considering how small the class is supposed to be this year because of only a few seniors here. Unfortunately I would be surprised to see anyone flip to be here. UConn has to be focused on retaining theis class and working on recruits who are de-commits or have not made up their mind yet. But I'm also hoping he can get a JUCO somewhere on offense, just for quick spark of leadership and talent if anything.
I doubt you see this again. Harbaugh was hired just before New Years last year he flipped some guys in the following 30 days leading up to NLI day who weren't convinced about Michigan's future. If this year's recruits wanted to commit to Michigan, they already would have.

The doors are being knocked on

RU after Lonsdorf and Williams; SU and Wake after DeGeorge; LSU after Leone

Yeah lol it seemed like Dez just read the article on UconnReport and then reported it on twitter.

I'm not accusing him of doing that, but the timing is oddly suspicious

+ Vanderbilt so it's a top 4! #AnchorDown ⚓️

For a Davies alumni you are being harsh on Tim. Remember he came in under one system and then had three different offenses during his time.

I wish Tim all the best as should all of us

I meant Xavier damn auto correct

Are we still in on DE 's like Izon Pulley, Jimmy Nelson, and Tymer Oliver? Would be nice to grab one of them to help out our pass rush down the road...

I think all of the UCONN beatwriters are bumping heads a bit in these final weeks with their reports..

huskymedic - Are we done recruiting OL with Lonsdorf, DeGeorge, & Leone committed? Or do you see us grabbing one more?

I'm not sure why Pulley isn't on the list - could have sworn he was but probably my bad as both 247/Rivals show him w/ UConn offer.

Also - i'm sure if a "want" OL feel in their lap, it would be hard to say no.

lastly, do we go after another WR with the departures of Thomas Lucas and Dhameer Bradley? I know Dixon and Skanes are coming but I thought they might be regardless...

I think the coaches really like Bryan Coney. Walk on from Naugy who had 20 TD receptions as a SR in high school.

Yeah, with Coney and also Battle coming off of his redshirt I think that definitely replenishes the WR corps.

Forgot about Coney and Battle.. thanks... looks like we have a ton of youthful depth at the position.

I would think they would absolutely host one more. My fear is it will be this weekend and the weather will severely impact the event.
