Nice way to end my work day.

That makes it official. Me and HFD are getting drunk tonight. In different towns of course!

hey, can someone tell the Ansonia coach that the kid is limited to 10 carries a game this year.

Great news for us. Arkeel is a top talent.

Ansonia has a well coached team, particularly their offensive line. Now that we apparently have Newsome who is a great talent to go along with our future signal callers, it is imperative we focus on who will block for them. At this point everything to do with our offense comes down to that imo.

Updating HFD's list from his Rain Dance thread to include Newsome and McAllister

Of this list, it looks like we can strike off Jamar Summers (supposedly already enrolled in jc or 4yr), Jason Sylva, and put Rennick Bryan as a lean strike off, based on Bryan's interview with the NHR.

One of Boland, Britton and Fuchs might come in this fall?? if Chasz Wright can't solve his transcript issues.

Could be wrong but Fuchs seems pretty committed to a PG year to get bigger, faster, more experienced. Wonder if Britton or a prefered walk-on get lucky?

According to Rivals, UConn offered Keith Benjamin, DL, 6-3, 253#, out of Windsor, CT

He camped at UConn. Courant all-team, also good wrestler.

I hope this kid commits soon.. Windsor, Bloomfield areas produce FBS level DL talent....

According to his twitter account, Ligonier Valley TE Alec Bloom has committed to #UConn

Ligonier Valley Pennsylvania TE Alec Bloom commits to UConn

Alec Bloom @alecbloom5
Officially committed to UConn! Proud to be a Husky! #UConn #UConnFootball

The 6-foot-7 230-pound Bloom had seven touchdown receptions as a junior and is also a standout on the Ligonier Valley basketball team.

From an ESPN Insider look-in on PSU Camp:

"One tight end who caught a lot of on-lookers' eyes was 2014 TE Alec Bloom (Ligonier, Pa./Ligonier), who stands at 6-foot-7 just like sophomore TE Jesse James. Bloom, whose primary sport was basketball until this year, showed nice hands on several passes. He holds no offers but appears to be primary run-on material. This was his first-ever football camp, and the tight end felt the coaches noticed him Saturday."

6'7", hoops player?
Seahawks signed Darren Fells to a contract in spite of Fells never having played football.

Strength, quick feet, and some hops.

Too early to forecast the unstoppable play of a 6'5" Boyle or Lagow to a 6'7" Fells crossing over the middle?

They are clearly going for bigger athletes regardless of experience. He will be coming in w/ 6-6 TE/PF Jordan Fuchs

Anytime I see a 6'7 - 6'8 athletic kid coming in, I think bulk 'em up and teach them how to play on the O-line.

>>The 6-foot-7, 242-pound Bloom is a three-sport athlete at District 6-AA Ligonier Valley, participating in football, basketball and track and field.
As a junior in 2012, he caught 16 passes for 337 yards and seven touchdowns in the Rams' run-oriented offense. Ligonier Valley shared the Heritage Conference regular-season title with Penns Manor and finished 10-2 following a 26-12 loss to Forest Hills in the second round of the District 6 playoffs.<<

I agree with the idea of bulking him up, but I think in the direction of D-line. Maybe it's because this Giants fan still hasn't forgiven them for years ago trading away the overall 1st round draft pick to the damned Cowboys for Craig Morton. That pick turned into Ed "Too Tall" Jones.

A 6'7" TE who can run and catch is a great asset. Personally I don't care where he plays as long as he becomes an All-American and first round NFL draft choice.
