Top 3rd, Houston gets a 2 run homer to make it 4-0. Kersten simply isn't sharp tonight. He needs to throw lots of strikes, and he hasn't.

WHUS announcers keep on saying the game is on Channel 20, but it isn't, at least tonight. I'm guessing it will be aired tomorrow afternoon on tape delay as originally scheduled.

Good job by the crowd, browbeating the crowd into correcting a missed strike call after throwing out a guy stealing home

Another run scores. Infield hit, advance on a bad throw...single up the middle 5-1 Houston.

Kersten continues to struggle. Nothing easy tonight.

Which team is the ranked one again? Total no show by the pitching staff. This team was either flat with a ton of energy coming into this stadium today. Either that or Houston is better.

With the injuries to Cate and company on the pitching staff, I'm really surprised this type of showing by UConn hasn't happened sooner during AAC play, or for that matter during the midweek games.

6-1 Houston, 5th inning. Kersten really should come out, but Penders doesn't want to put the back end of the bullpen in yet, and he doesn't want to put Poulin, Wallace, or even Rajkowski in while they are down by several runs.

Houston always has a very good team, even if their RPI is a little high. Just check the AAC standings, they are in 1st place coming into this series. I expect that East Carolina will be a tough series next week as well. Two very tough teams to end the AAC season, in my mind the cream of the crop in the AAC.

Turning into a rough evening. Losing the early game really hurt.

Still pissed about the rain tomorrow. Shot my whole sports weekend.

Kersten finally comes out, Trevor Holmes comes in with 2 out in the 5th and the bases loaded. Gets the final out of the inning.

Ugh, UCONN's done it again!! As soon as I start caring about this team, they go and put up stinkers like today. Yeah I know they fought back in the 1st game, but almost only counts in horseshoes and hand grenades.

After giving up the solo homer in the 6th, Trevor Holmes strikes out the side in the top of the 7th. Houston up 7-1.

I'm guessing we will have a Joe Rivera sighting in the top of the 9th. What I really want to see is a Tim Cate sighting on Sunday.

Nope, Santos stays in for the 9th.

That was almost as painful as the near 6 1/2 hour drive home from Philly today (thankful for WHUS app).

Old fashioned kicking.

Houston getting off to good start in top of 1st inning in game 2 let the air out of everything after the way the 1st game went down, When score was 6-1, it felt like it was 16-1.... Was bound to run out of late inning heroics & did in the 1st game. Gotta get game on Sunday to at least stabilize things going into next weekend......
