Kudos to Penders: Don't waste the bullpen; accept tonight's medicine (and the loss). Take two of three with a rested pitching staff.

I agree with don't waste the mainstays out of the bullpen, but I would still take out Peterson. I would be more inclined to get some action for guys who have not seen much mound action of late.

Bottom 6th, with 1 out and a runner at 1B, Peterson comes out, possibly with an injury. Hector Alejandro coming in to pitch, he certainly hasn't seen the mound in a game for a while. After an infield error, an unearned run scores on a groundout. 10-1 Hoyas.

Top 7th, Padilla with a leadoff solo homer, 10-2. Nice to write something positive for a change tonight.

UConn loads the bases with walks and a hit by pitch with no outs. Pitching change. Chris Jones was saying that after their first 2 starting pitchers, the Georgetown bullpen is on the weak side.

Top 7th, with the bases loaded, UConn fails to score. 10-2 going to the bottom of the inning.

So much for that.

Bottom 7th, Alejandro with a 1-2-3 inning. Nice to see from someone who hasn't seen the mound in a game in a month.

When you see a guy suddenly look like he’s throwing for the home run derby, he’s either injured or tipping his pitches. I’m guessing it’s the latter.
It's like in last years South Bend regional when they got lit up against Notre Dame and Central Michigan and they said that the pitchers were tipping their pitches. If that's the case, the pitching coach has got to get that corrected.

Top 8th, UConn goes down in order. Ferrer pinched hit for Bushling, Chris Brown going in to play 3B.

Bottom 8th, after a leadoff double, Alejandro comes out, and Braden Quinn coming in to pitch. After getting a strikeout for the 1st out, Quinn gives up a 2 run homer, and then a solo homer to make it 13-2 Hoyas.

Well that was a wasted $3.88…

Our last six games we are 3-3. That won't impress the seeding committee.

So Bush started at leadoff, dropped down, stayed at clean up for a while, dropped down and now is 9 spot. Amazing the ups and downs of a season.

I don’t know if this was mentioned yesterday but Chris Jones said Austin Peterson was flown back to Connecticut to get X-rays on his foot

Yesterday Chris Jones mentioned that it appeared that Peterson's foot might be injured when Peterson came out of the game. The mention about the x-rays is new to me as of a few minutes ago when Chris Jones mentioned it.

Bottom 1st, Gallagher comes up with a scoreless inning with the help of an infield double play. No score.

Bottom 2nd,

It's been a busy day, which helped me to forget to listen to the Penders postgame interview from last night. Probably the only one I haven't listened to all season. I don't know yet if Penders said anything about the Peterson injury during the interview.

Bottom 2nd, after a leadoff double, a 1 out walk followed by a single ties up the game. 2 runners on base. Another double combined with an error on Simmons drives in 2 more runs, 3-1 Georgetown.
