Maybe some home cooking on fouls, but my memory says ND plays some aggressive in your face defense.

The game really says more about NC State than ND. The Pack really only played 5, and they hung in there.

ND losing to a good team in multiple overtimes on the road probably does not yet knock them out of a #1 seed. More action to follow though.

Most all true Husky fans realize what this game means for our mental health. I watched and became a temporary fan of NC. Please tell me with a straight face that the results of the game didn't put a smile on your face or in your mind.
Thumbs up N.C. you deserve it, ND oh well..........may we meet again, it would be a great game #1?

3 point field goals:

NC State 8-21
ND 7-27

NC State had several forward/guards who sliced up ND with one on one moves for lay-ups
and short pull-ups. It was an exciting game and I was more impressed with NCS than
thinking ND didn't look good. Not ND's best for sure...but their next opponent better be real
ready.

I agree. That last call seemed like a mistake. The replay showed it to be a held ball, not a foul. I don't think it would have mattered much at that point though. NC State had owned the 2nd OT up to that point.
Pretty aggressive reach in, with some contact, before getting the tie-up but the ref that called it was adamant is telling the other refs that she had the foul, but I the other 2 refs deferred to her, rather than necessarily agreed. It's hard not to like / respect Hidalgo, however, she plays with joy and passion, and accepts her fate without a lot of fanfare. Still think ND has the best overall roster (closely followed by Uconn) among the 8 teams in the hunt for Natti

Only makes the Tennessee loss that much more disappointing.........UConn would likely be ranked in the top four if they had won that one.......:(
But maybe we got better from that loss, I see us as the top 2 seeded team. Is there really a difference in being the top 2nd seed vs the 4th 1 seed, you would be playing each other in the elite 8 no matter what if that matchup happens.

Agree, that NCS had a very nice offense, but their help defense was not very good and their blocking out for defensive rebounds was abysmal, leading to a huge advantage on offensive rebounds for ND (Uconn will need to upgrade on that also if it runs into ND again). Citron, as always, was quietly impressive

There are a couple of posters on here I hope don't see this post

Is this something that the UConn Boneyard needs to be writing about? ND has their own thousands of fans and followers and doesn't need more from the Boneyard. It should be put on the General board.
I for one am very interested in any losses of any team above us in the polls and I feel certain that many here share my interest. This applies to any team above us not just ND.

Hidalgo fouled out on a bad call but got away with a couple. Timing stinks for ND, though
Respectfully disagree…there was a lot of contact and Hildalgo took a huge chance being that aggressive.

I didn’t think the call really impacted the outcome of the game. ND wasn’t playing good team ball…way too much one on one. They need to integrate Citron (who I think is terrific) and Westbeld into the offensive better.

Ummm…. It’s been done with other teams. Not just ND

I wasn't sure if Hannah got both hands on the ball (early i.e. a tie up -
jump ball) or whether it was a first a "reach-in foul" with one hand
fouling the NC St. player. I did not watch it numerous times, but
since it was not reviewable... it had to be a quick decision by the
ref. LIVE ACTION is hard to "call" perfectly.

We can agree to disagree on the foul but what I meant by bad timing is that it was Hidalgo’s 5th foul, so she was out of the game at a crucial moment

ND’s rebounding was not good in the OTs. Not a recipe for success

But the refs don't get the advantage of a "REPLAY" in this type of
situation.... I read some alternative views in other posts on this thread about
this particular play.
My immediate impression was a "reach - in".. but I am rather biased!!!!!
