We don't need a HOF coach. I like KO but he was fortunate to have Bazz & Co early on and when that group left KO was woefully unprepared to run a big program. We need a competent experienced coach with a little hunger....there are 350 division 1 BB teams so UConn is a big step up for at least 275 coaches...a good number of those would be a step up from KO.

Strawmaster, nobody is calling for UK-levels of performance.

Making the Tournament 3/4 of the time, ranked more than half the time, and a contender (Top 10) once every 3-4 years is easily doable. Wichita State and Gonzaga are there already, despite minimal history and being in a nothing conference.

The difference? Coaching.

Oh. So in order to be a good AD, the candidate needs to:

1) Force a P5 conference to take us.
2) Tell Saban and Meyer to figure out which one will be our new coach.
3) Expand the stadium after 30k season ticket holders and sold out hoops games (by far the most rational thing on the list)

I agree with you on the extension but come on - he inherted 99 problems. He solved the biggest one.

This isn’t the NBA - there is nothing you can do to fix a basketball team in December.

Arizona is better than Wichita State in my opinion. I think Arizona is going to look like a completely different team come February and I like them to win it all. That being said, Wichita State is still likely to destroy UConn, because we just aren’t any good simple as that.
