6 years ago against Pitt, the call that gave us the best chance to win the game was going for it on 4th down.
Last Saturday, Diaco's call didn't give us the best odds to win that game. You can't compare these 2 situations at all. There is context to both situations. They didn't occur in a vacuum.
Nothing he said made me feel better about his capability. It's just idiotic to run the ball there. Regardless of what the players wanted to do. He keeps talking about having that one extra play. Does he still think it was 3rd down?
I think by some miracle the BY has come to a consensus that Diaco facked up the sequence at the end of the game.
He's not getting fired and nor should he.
So the nonstop threads saying the same thing over and over again while calling for his head are just getting goshdarn tedious.
Well to be clear, I made my original statement with the benefit of hindsight. Watching that play on tape, all 11 defenders crashed into the interior of the line. BS would've walked in the end zone.
If I were watching that live, my preferences would've been:
Bootleg with an option to throw...
I've read and seen enough to know that the moment was clearly too big for him.
I'm not on the fire him bandwagon, but this is his third year as a head coach. This can't happen. If he's incapable of managing the game, he needs to either find someone on the staff who can handle that or hire...
It was a steaming pile Matt.
You're never as good or bad as your first game. So while I'm not giving up on the season just yet there are a few wildly concerning things:
The OL looked GDL bad. Some unfair hype was put on Peart and he's young but he cannot play at LT if he doesn't...
Just got home. What a brutal performance. Might be the most disappointed I've ever walked out of the Rent given everything.
We better fix this sheet. My fears about Peart were mocked by the pollyannas. God that was awful. Goodnight all.
I will take 5 Zach Hurds on my OL 6 days a week and twice on Saturday. Seeing him pull and bury the ND linebacker on Dixon's winning TD was a thing of beauty.
