Says the "Launch Pad" wanted to muscle it in so he obliged.

He thought and thinks they were both good plays.

The answers get worse upon further explanation. I don't know what to feel except sad.

Everyone on this board needs to watch this entire presser before posting anything HCBD related. Make up your own minds about expectations of change moving forward.

If I listen to this, I will end up "launching" my monitors across the office.

Can't get it to run. Keep getting the dockers commercial and then "content unavailable"...

Listening dispassionately - I actually don't have a big problem with WHAT he is saying, but his speech patterns are bizarre.

If our AD had a chat with our HC and this is the result we have a problem that goes way beyond strategy. If he didn't have that chat is there any doubt left that an intervention is needed?

Jim - I'm really not sure what you expected to happen today... He took full responsibility/accountability in the end for the call, he answered every question thrown at him and said in hindsight he wouldn't make the same call. You have to know by now, that there are words that are going to come out of his mouth that make you wince or say huh? It's like listening to a politician. I actually thought he said more than he should have said. (Plz understand that I'm not defending the actual timeout usage or run call).

This, right now, is a dumpster fire. Maybe this will be ok at the end of the "process", but right now it's a little too close to making sausage for me.

More simply, I think he uses 100 words when 10 will do. If you got out of his press conference that he doesn't care about winning, I'm not sure what you are watching.

I am using this at all of the remaining tailgates. " We need to troubleshoot why there are only 2 beers left and 1 half eaten burger."

If Diaco doesn't go above .500 and a bowl victory this season he should resign himself and just go back to being a stellar DC somewhere...

I never knew that the KISS principle originated from the Navy. It's at times like this that you need to apply It.

KISS is an acronym for "Keep it simple, stupid" as a design principle noted by the U.S. Navy in 1960. The KISS principle states that most systems work best if they are kept simple rather than made complicated; therefore simplicity should be a key goal in design and unnecessary complexity should be avoided.

Follow up question that was not asked -
Not meaning to be condescending, why is a play from the 2 with 17 seconds left not a good play from the HALF YARD LINE (just following thru on Saturday's emphasis from Diaco)? Especially since it was a pass play that would have stopped the clock if incomplete and you would have had the time out if it was stopped short of the goal line?

He wants the media and fans to believe he and his staff do things for a reason and the reason is to win. He wants us to know they think thru all possible scenarios including taking a safety when there was still a lot of time on the clock. He wants us to believe that they know more about situations and team capabilities than anyone. And he wants us to know that he loves the team and the swagger they had to run the last play.

Not clear to me is who are "the launch pad" and who makes the final go no go decision? At one point he made it sound like the team wanted the running play although he later said of courese not, it was the coaches who made the call.

I stand by my conclusion that he coaches in clutch situations with a sense of dread and fear of what if it leads to a turnover and god forbid points for the other side. No situational awareness.

Interesting analysis. So your point is the world should give up on wanting to eat sausage because you don't like the process that has to be used?

To continue the metaphor, if you are willing to watch sausage being made for 3 years and counting, more power to you. I don't have to watch, just give me something that tastes good. Also, the world only extends to the UConn community, in this case. Right?

Let me put it this way putting aside all of the launch pad silliness (he meant the players in the huddle which is a terrible abdication). After 2 days of analysis our coach just told us that either choice of plays was a good choice. I'll rewatch but that's what I heard. It's all good lets move on. I find that disturbing.

I wonder what the process for making Herbie's Sausage/Brats is and what does Kirk's meat taste like?

As I keep saying, this idiot doesn't learn his lesson. His post game thoughts are even more troubling than what happened on the field and this kind of cr@p will keep happening. To the fan boys telling me I was overreacting, next time he hands away another victory I will be there to tell you "I told you so."
