Given the relative lack of excitement about the Rutgers game this afternoon, I thought we could have a pleasant conversation on pop culture.

Remember that TV show ED?

I loved that show -- it was on in the early 200s. I loved the quirky plot about a lawyer who runs a bowling alley instead of practicing law. He had a funny menagerie of employees. And a fella can't complain too much about a series with Julie Bowen.

Did anyone else like it?

Says who? I'm dragging my tired up to Storrs for my first in-person game this year, just to watch the well-deserved beatdown live. Forget HDTV.

Call it blood lust!

That's one weakness of the current Boneyard software I'd like to see remedied.

If I thought it was really a typo I'd fix it, but have a feeling it's UconnHenry-style humor.

Speaking of whom . . . Gone, gone, gone it seems.

I know zorro misses him as a source of poetic inspiration.

It's a serious problem in older men. Fortunately, there are now many commonly prescribed medications to remedy the problem, such as Cialis and Viagara.

I remember the horse, Mr. Ed, and his owner Wilbur but I don't remember a bowling alley. Also, I didn't know Wilbur was a lawyer. I guess I wasn't paying attention.

I remember that show. It starred the guy from Northern Exposure - which was a much better show. Except for Julie Bowen of course.

Didn't the plot center around some character that agreed to work at the bowling alley and then decided at the last minute to take another job? The bowling alley still made a profit but not what it would have been if the worker had hung around.

IDK. It's like every day. We don't even have this many threads about our own players.
You know the thread is a joke, not about Elena, right? The OP would agree with you, it seems.

What a strange topic.

I liked that show. And if it had any part in getting Julie Bowen to Modern Family, I like it that much more.

Tom Cavanaugh was in a great show called Love Monkey a few years after Ed - it was quirky and unfortunately, quirky means cancelled most of the time.

So true, sadly. Quirkiness is a good thing on TV.

I think The Office, Thirty Rock, etc. are funny, quirky shows and fortunately they are surviving nicely.
