Yes, maybe the best comedy of all time?

It's up there.

It had a run on HBO recently.

Your sig line reflects one of the more unheralded moments in the movie. Classic bit by the German Inspector dude.

+1

Fishy's sig line was my motivation for starting the post. It causes me to laugh even before reading some of his classic funny quotes.

One of the best.

Wilder and Pyror in "Stir Crazy" is better abs training than the "Six Minute Abs" training circuit

It's my second favorite Mel Brooks movie. The first is The Producers.

"Animal House" and "Blazing Saddles" and "Young Frankenstein" are three of my favorites.

Inga: He vould have an enormous schwanzstucker.

Thanks and by the way, nice knockers.....

I end up quoting My Cousin Vinny and Holy Grail more than any others. But you can't lose focusing on Animal House or Blazing Saddles.

My Cousin Vinny is great. If you're talking quotes, I think you have to add The Princess Bride (it's a comedy, right?). So many others you can add - Trading Places, Caddy Shack, some newer stuff, Hangover, 40 Year Old Virgin and a classic - It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad Mad World. Was never a Mel fan myself and as far as Monty Python, I find myself spending too much time translating English to english to get the comedy, though I do love the 'red, no blue - ahhhhhhh' scene.

Great movie - Marisa Tomei was funny as !!!.........and hot too............

YF clearly one of the all time best. I can give my son a loud sort of grunt and right away he knows it's an imitation of Peter Boyle's Frankenstein grunt. And what other movie exists when the frightened whinny of a horse in the background can only mean one thing. Can't go wrong with YF and Animal House, which was also on one of the cable movie channels recently.

I just watched "Animal House " Saturday. I can't believe it still makes me laugh out loud.

"Christ. Seven years of college down the drain. Might as well join the Peace Corps".

Young Frankenstein is in my top three.

Just to be different and not fall back to Animal House and Blazing Saddles, I'll throw out Airplane and The Pink Panther.

I loved the Pink Panther movies. The original came out almost a decade before I was born, but my brothers and I have been launching Cato-styled attacks on each other for decades.
