Xavier Post Game Thread

Can one of our stat wizards come up with Mullins’ shooting pct when right at the arc vs the deep threes? From watching all season, the eye test tells me there is a big difference but I’d like to see numbers to validate or dispel that feeling.

Solo also had 4 rebounds and 2 assists and only 1 turnover. Nice game.

I didn’t realize that AK shot 50% and 37.5% from three. He had two early misses from three in start of second half which contributed to UConn’s slow start.

I absolutely love watching a three year guy like Ross, who has obviously put in a lot of work, finally blossom like he has this year. As others have mentioned, his defense and athleticism balances the lineup and i actually think our offense runs better when he’s in there.

My career projection for Alex is second round NBA, two ways with several teams, maybe a couple of years on the bench then on to a coaching staff

No offense? He seems to be the only guy getting steals and breakaways dunks. Give me that all day long. Those are momentum changing plays that are much more impactful than the points themselves.

I know what the stats say - i was being a bit cheeky. And at one point i think he was 1-7(?) from 3. He made his last 3 3s to significantly boost his fg%. He played a nice game. He’s still not the shooter he was last year.

And his offense would have been even better if they fed him the ball. Watch with 1:17 left in the game, as JustBrewItMan said, Ross had a certain ally-oop after he ran the floor and was wide open (disgraceful he wasn't fed). And if they ran sets for him all game, hey may have had another few points. Jayden's offense is actually trending quite nicely.

JRoss has shown all season long that he is probably our best player at getting entry passes into our big men.

He also does a great job with quick skip passes to the open three-point shooter.

He also likely made the best Alley Oop pass that anyone has made all year on this team… And unfortunately, Braylon messed up the dunk!
 
After the Marquette game there was no where to go but up. I realized we were bad in that game but they mentioned on the radio how historically bad we were. Worst shooting percentage in 4 years. Worst 3 point percentage since leaving the AAC. Yet we still had a chance to send it to OT. I am going to file that game as a one off. Got it out of the way before the post season.

I met Seth Davis at a charity golf event and talked with him for a while. He said every CBS Sports reporter has a Raftery story where they went out after work for "a drink or two". Raf proceeded to keep them out til the wee hours, drinking them under the table and every single time the reporter showed up the next day, Raf was already in suited up, bright eyed and bushytailed.

Some people are just tanks. I used to work with a woman that was a head of investor relations for a public company. We’d all go out until 4 AM after filings, she’d drink a ton, and then be meeting with big wig investors with the CFO the next morning at 8 AM. Told me she never got hangovers. I still don’t understand how what she did was medically possible.

He'd have a lot more time to shoot his 3s if defenders feel the threat of him taking them at 15 feet.

I was thinking the same thing. 3-3 on two pointers for Mullins last night. I’d love it if he could put up more attempts inside the arc. (I do recall some misses though. Haha)
