Weird after already announcing Sale. Doesn't smell great. But Sale's obviously not close to 100%, and Cora knows best.

I know what Cora is doing here, he will have Sale available out of the pen to piece it together or have Sale close, Kimbrel might not be available. Cora is using the element of surprise on the Dodgers, he is trying to throw off the Dodgers lineup.

It helped that Manny "I can't wait for the Yankees to sign this guy to a $200M contract and see him blow up to 300 pounds" Machado was the guy "running."

But the pick and the throw were great.
Did you guys see the image of Machado blowing a bubble as he was nearing first base? I wouldn’t touch that non hustling punk with a 10 foot pole.

I always root for a 7-game series just so I can watch more baseball.

I'm seriously reconsidering that right now.

A dude after my own heart. I’m having the same feelings.

Yeah they just don’t want to have sale in a position to hit.

Hopefully it goes better than the last time it happened with Dave Stewart in Arizona. I'm not too worried about the experience, Minaya/Ricco/Ricciardi are all supposedly staying in some role.

Granted it's a different sport, but Bob Myers went from agent to GM (1 year stint as Asst GM first) with the Warriors and that's turned out really well

Realistically, the Wilpons are still there so it really doesn't matter who they hire or sign because it'll go wrong

The last sentence is true

Let's be honest here he's telling you that Sale is not healthy at all, nothing else. Because if healthy he'd be ending this series immediately no putzing around.

Won't matter this is over and Roberts may have just managed the worst WS in history, he has a lot to answer to.

With a strong start tonight...is it possible that...the guy who has been labeled the October DumpsterFire...might actually be lining himself up for WS MVP? I mean, is that possible? I kinda think it is....

Possibly. No position player has really differentiated themselves

Ha! Yes, I pointed that out to my wife! When did he blow that? While he was running? I wouldn't touch that bum with the Pesky Pole.

It’s him, eovldi, Pearce and Kelly as the contenders.

Apparently you didn’t watch the 2014 or 15 series.

Especially 2015 where Yost and Collins climbed over each other trying to make the worse decision and cost their team games

I think he took out Hill too late, not too soon. The guy was out there grunting and flailing that last inning. He was high in the pitch count.

And it's easy to bag on these managers for taking out pitchers who are lights out, but when it's time to sit, it's time to sit.

Are people saying Grady Little made the right move now?

I think it has to be eovaldi. Pitched lights out in games 1&2 with a legendary performance in game 3.

One would think he would be unavailable tonight but if the situation is perfect I could see it. Also, I think Cora uses Sale tonight if ahead like he did against the Yankees just to get x amount of outs closer to a win.

Back to Eovaldi, he actually went in Cora’s office at 8:45 AM the same day game 3 ended and told AC that he was ready to start game 4. Wow lol

I don't know if it's Dave Roberts or Andrew Friedman but somebody is overthinking things with these lineups. That being said - and I know as a Sox fan that as soon as I say this they'll lose 4 straight - it really feels like the two best teams just played in the ALCS. I have a feeling LA is going to light up Porcello tomorrow night but Boston is just a better squad.

Happy for Price too. Hard to feel bad for a guy with one of the biggest tickets in professional sports, but it's nice to see him get that post-season monkey off his back.
Overthinking is an understatement. It’s almost like moves based on nerves/fear. Insane.

Grady made exactly the right move. The right move for someone that wanted to get paid, but not have to work the following year.

ETA: OK, I guess his contract was not renewed...

I don't even think it matters who starts for the Sox because the Dodgers can't hit and even if Kershaw pitches a gem the Sox pen will wear him down and get to that pen. Cora will kick Roberts ass like he has done all series.

Rich Hill has their number, Boston is really bad at hitting lefty breaking stuff and they hit everything else. Hill had a 1 hitter on 90 pitches, nothing was hit hard the entire game, all he did was walk a guy on a 3-2 count and then struck out the next batter. After 4 straight balls from one cr@ppy reliever he puts in Madson, the king of crappy relievers who already blew game 1 and game 2. He makes his best relievers Baez and Urias unavailable. It was one of about 15 mind-numbingly stupid moves. Roberts was pretty awful last year in the Series, this year he's a dumpster fire.

Roberts has the formula down. Kershaw will have a no hitter, Roberts will go to Madson and then try and get 6 outs from Jansen. He's saving Baez for next season, same with Kemp. Grandal will carry the offense.

It's genius really.

I would be totally shocked if he puts Sale in tonight. The 18 inning affair already screwed with the Sox bullpen enough. Putting Sale in there, and possible endangering his start, would be bad. If he was fully healthy sure, but not the way he is (shoulder and crazy illness).

Fact is, they are going to need the rest of the bullpen to chip in given what's gone on in the series.
