Brondello wasn't there. Missing for personal reasons.
Oh. I should have known she was in full Olympic mode. Seemed like a call she would make.

Rough game for Dallas. When their stars shoot like this, they have no chance. Sabally 0-10, Ogunbowale 4-17, Mabrey 0-4. Collier, Jefferson and Alarie picked up some of the slack, but not nearly enough.
Really would like to see Moriah on a team like Seattle where there isn't a volume shooter. She would pair well with Canada, both guick and Mo can shoot, which would make up for Canada not having any range.

Lynx crush LA. Pheesa was dominant on the offensive end physically overpowering everyone in sight. Manhandled Karlie a few times. Ice Baths over Olympic break.

Indiana wins again and Teiara had another good game. Granted the Dream are almost as big of a hot mess as the Fever but a win is a win.

I think she is getting a handle on her emotions and not arguing calls as much. That is the first step in really dominating down low. Just ignore the bad calls against you.

Robinson taking over as point guard, limiting the shots of the Mitchell's. Spreading the shot selections around make them a better team.

Another slow start for the Aces. Laimbeer must like starting out every game w/ a deficit. Replacing Cambage w/ Stokes isn't helping, since she absolutely can't score. Meanwhile the 2 players who turn around the momentum most of the time they are on the floor continue to begin each game on the bench. Brilliant.

I think what makes the Aces so dangerous is that they can take momentum when starters for opposing team get tired/other team's bench is in. Hamby/Plum are better than a lot of starters in the league, and can turn things around in a hurry. You could argue that Plum should start over Riquina Williams, but Laimbeer is using Plum as a backup to Gray at PG, which Riquina couldn't do (and Slocum is not ready for primetime).

Indiana also playing really good team defense; they've shut down Connecticut, NY, and Atlanta offenses the last three games.

Once McCowan figures out how to dominate consistently, the Fever became instantly more dangerous. They still don't have a roster built for the playoffs yet, imo, but they can at least be competitive.

Fun quotes by Cheryl and Pheesa :D:D:p

"Phee was pretty motivated this game," Lynx coach Cheryl Reeve said. "I think L.A. has a way of sort of. … The way they play, the physicality, the embellishment of certain things, it can get to you. The referees fall for it a lot. Phee responded with her own physicality."

Speaking of embellishment, Collier joked after the game that she must have eaten her protein. "It felt like everyone I touched fell down," she said.

Any news on Chennedy Carter?
The Dream suspended second-year guard Chennedy Carter earlier this week after she stayed in the locker room for the second half of the team’s game against the Aces on Sunday, sparking widespread speculation.

Reporting from Spencer Nusbaum published in The Next provides important context into the events leading up to Carter’s early exit from Sunday’s match and the resulting suspension.

According to the report, Dream guard Courtney Williams implored Carter in the first quarter to get more engaged in the game and cheer for her teammates from the bench. An argument ensued between the two teammates, and Carter did not re-enter the game after the opening quarter.

Following the game, Carter approached Williams about playing time and suggested she wanted to fight her teammate, sources told Nusbaum. Williams, who reportedly got into an altercation in 2018 with then-Sun teammate Alex Bentley, made it clear she didn’t want to fight and removed herself from the situation.

While no physical altercation occurred, Atlanta announced on Monday that Carter would be suspended indefinitely for “conduct detrimental to the team.”

Carter’s clash with Williams is part of a broader pattern, Nusbaum reports.

Carter’s negative impact on the locker room could affect her long-term future in Atlanta, but according to Nusbaum, the team is still optimistic that relationships can be mended.
