WNBA Playoffs Thread

It's been confirmed Peddy has a ruptured Achilles, so she's out for the rest of the playoffs for the Merc.

It is unfortunate, but Stewie and Plum have shown you can fully recover from this injury. Going to miss a year though.

Chicago just dominated from the start! Holy smokes!! Their intensity was incredible.

Just a miserable game for New York, nothing really worked for them all game long.

This is one of those games where you just move on. There wasn't any one thing: the Sky fell on them.
And everyone knows it's winner-take-all on Tuesday. Stay tuned.

With their depleted roster, Phoenix doesn't even look like a good college team on paper. Jennie Simms and Yvonne Turner are both starters. And yet here they are, going toe to toe w/ the Aces, having no trouble scoring. Vegas needs to buckle down and blow this wide open early.

34-30 thru Q1. There hasn't been one iota of defense played by either team so far. Vegas can't hardly miss and they set a record for 3's in a quarter in a playoff game, yet they can't get any separation.

Safe to say Vegas now has that separation.

Both teams have "cooled off" to 67 and 61 percent shooting. Unbelievable. The scoring pace has dropped way off from Q1. Vegas is 10-16 from 3. Phoenix is 0-4 from the charity stripe.

63-44 at the half. Vegas set another record, 11 3's is the most in any half in a WNBA payoff game.

DeShields and Kaela Davis going off for Phoenix. Pretty much everybody going off for Vegas.

Gray is playing out of her mind. I'm pretty sure she could close her eyes and toss something up from behind the arc, it's going in.

Wilson has been much better than in Game 1, but it's still the guards. Gray, Plum and Young have been tearing it up.

Aces w/ 1 more record. 17 made 3's is the most in a WNBA playoff game ever. Starters will be resting for the 4th quarter...except Rupert took a shot to the face and is being evaluated for concussion, and now Stokes limped off the floor. Somebody has to play the rest of the game.

edit--never mind, they are rolling w/ a Lilliputian lineup, Plaisance and a bunch of guards

Chicago set a record for biggest margin of victory in a WNBA playoff game ever. Is it possible that record is only going to last a few hours? The Aces bench is going crazy, have extended the lead slightly to 37.

Sky's record survives by a single point. 117-80 final. Season high points for Vegas, even w/ the starters sitting out the 4th quarter. 23-36 shooting from 3 is insane.

edit--5 different players made at least 3; Gray was 7-8

Lordy. Check the basketball and rims for magnets

If Dallas wins this series, does Arike come back?

Caught the 2nd half, Dallas looked incredible in the 3rd and early 4th. Amazing how good the ball movement is without Arike on the court. I still think Connecticut takes this but Dallas looked great through 33 minutes.

Connecticut's Bench made a massive run in the 4th, great effort specifically from Carrington who was everywhere and playing extremely hard while others were coasting. Glad we get to see a couple of game 3s this week, should be entertaining games.

Give Allisha Gray her flowers!! Scoring, passing, rebounding, defending playing 4-5 inches taller!! First Team All-Defense!!
