WNBA June 2019 Musings, scores, pictures, etc

Teams have combined for about 30 turnovers, early Q4. Kind of an ugly, disjointed game. I'm really trying to watch some WNBA games this season, but I'm just not enjoying it.

none for Gray.... Parker is trying to get a triple double

19 TOs and 5-16 3 point shooting not a winning formula for the Aces. Combined 5-28 shooting from Plum, McBride and Jackie Young.

edited--Young did have 9 assists to only 2 TOs.

The problem with Parker is that her handle is not as good as she believes it to be. She is good operating in space, such as on fast breaks, and against other bigs one on one. However, in the half court when she has to go against multiple perimeter defenders she dribbles herself into too many turnovers. She is good at working a two-man game, especially with Nneka posting up. If she would only stick to operating within her actual skill set the Sparks would be far better off. She just makes too many bad decisions.

NY beat Dallas 69 - 68. Kia 17, Tina 15 pts .... great game.
O'Gunbawale with a hero 3-point attempt with 5 seconds left when they were only 1 point behind and just needed to get to the rim and score and/or get fouled. Missed the 3, NY (Boyd) got the rebound and got fouled. Game over.

More importantly, Arike 2-23 (2-13 from 3). :D:D:D:D:D:D

Exactly, this is the best part of today's game.

Liberty missed so many FT's in crunch time, they tried to throw the game away but Agler decided to ride the cold and out of control hand.:rolleyes:

Probably a good indicator of what Chennedy will look like in the WNBA.

2 late games being played at 10PM on conflicting channels

Chi @ Sea on CBSSN
Ind @ Pho on NBATV

Also the game illustrated the difference between the manic Arike and the cool and controlled Asia. At Louisville, I seemed to be under the impression that she was a bit of a chucker in her own right but clearly, that was much more out of need than personality.

Well after everyone was ready to crown Arike Rookie of the Year after the last game, she was followed up with a 2 of 23 performance in a 1-point loss to the Liberty.

That's 2 of 23. Also known as 8% shooting.

ROY should be either Phessa or Asia .....

How does a Center shoot 5-19?

A combination of double teams that she would not quick pass out of enough, refs who would not call a sledge hammer and Tina loving the 3 pt shot too much biut she is always valuable on the boards and defense in general.

What was funny about that is she was like 0-14, then made 2 3's in a row and
then decided the harder the shot, the better. I predict that Agler will have quite a bald spot.

Oh, and Kia got a few shivers in. ;)

Speaking of laying bricks.... When is the next Las Vegas-LA matchup? I might have to tune in to that one

Arike was +3. Charles was -3. Conclusion? Arike is better than Tina Charles. ;)

Could this be shaping up as Lisa Leslie vs. Lauren Jackson Part II? I remember an intense rivalry between those 2 and one of them literally got some of her hair ripped out during a game.

No Stewie, no Bird, no Jewell...no problem. Seattle looking good, up 33-21 over Chicago after 1 quarter. Russell is looking really good. Had a drive from the 3 point arc into the lane, hit a contested layup. I don't remember seeing her do anything like that before. Clark got them started w/ 8 points in the first 3 minutes of the game. I believe Russell has 8 as well. KML has a couple of 3's. Canada is a pesky and disruptive defender.

The rest of the team was 20-44 from the floor. How in the world does Agler let Arike shoot that much when she can't hit anything?
