Most of our competitors are playing decent teams today or tomorrow. Why are we playing Podunk U.? Major mistake!!! It only fosters the naysayers who say we play in a watered down conference. Schedule Fairfield, LIU, Fordham, Rider, or another such school people have heard of. Podunk tells people the AAC is low on the totem pole.:( Agree?

You have been waiting all season to post this right?

Because of course you couldn't post it after the first 11 games when we played Florida, Indiana, Maryland, BC, Stanford, Washington, BU and Yale. And oh yeah we have a game coming up with Harvard which I guess qualifies.

What makes EWU worse than an Eastern cupcake? They've even produced a decent pro - Rodney Stuckey.

And what does a non-conference game have to do with a conference?

It's hopefully a post-Holiday break cupcake. The post-exam break game against Stanford shows what can happen when a little rust seeps in to your gears.

Schedule a cup cake but not one no one has ever heard of. The fact that they played us close further bolsters my view. We all know we've played a good sked but our enemies and talking heads think not.

We are a type of pedigree that can play who the fukk we want to. When many of your 'competitors' are biting their fingernails come February, we will be making extended travel plans.

We are UConn dammit!

Usually you see people wanting to switch out one cupcake for a high major program. I don't think I've ever seen anyone say they want to switch out one cupcake for another cupcake. Just weird.

Maybe Eastern Washington wanted to play us to get some program recognition? but I only agree about 30% and that is the teams you mentioned I agree with, some random midmajors I'd like are Bryant, Robert Morris, and Bucknell.

Who are these enemies? And why do you care?

That's a dumb post even by our standards.

Eastern Washington was on the East Coast to play Seton Hall and probably asked other Eastern schools if they had an open date. UConn may have had an open date and KO, being that kind of guy, helped out a team that probably can't afford to make an expensive trip East for one game. Eastern Washington probably also gets an appearance fee from UConn.

Eastern Washington's RPI is 131 putting it above Brown (246), Albany (161), and Central CT (311) - and BC (133), Maryland (134), TCU (137), Texas Tech (138), Temple (143)...... Bryant does have a RPI of 113 but was busy getting beat by Binghamton last night.

Solid points all around. The P5 laughing stops the day we play Brown or Albany.

That's an interesting point that, despite cupcake status, Eastern Washington might actually be better for our RPI than some of our high-major competition (BC, Maryland, Washington all outside the top 100).

Regardless of whether they're in a scrub conference or a power conference, we need to schedule more teams who are top-50 (of which we've played only 1 so far) or at least top-100, rather than in the 100+ range.
