As if Uconn fans are an ingratiating bunch. Have you seen the venom tossed NJ's way on this site? You get every bit you deserve. Don't play the victim role. It is what it is.
Don't you dare act as if you are the put upon party in this scenario.
It's a UConn message board. You don't like it, don't come. She doesn't like how people at Rutgers treated CT fans apparently, so she isn't in a hurry to go back.

Spuds - back and forth jousting on an Internet message board the week of a game is one thing... Nasty, immature, vile potty-mouth drunk fans in person are another. My last trip to SUNJ - my 13 y/o was spit on and his hat knocked off his head by some inbred. The punk and his two guido wannabes were just lucky i was alone w/my son. I've been to Yankee Stadium more times than I can count for Yankee/Red Sox games and the Yankee fans are less abusive to the utimate rivalry's fans than your fans are to opposing team's fans. Every fan base has a jerk or two... You clowns take the joker's crown. Mutants from all the toxins in the school's water supply I imagine.

I don't need to speak for UConngal, but I dont think she is talking about Internet posters tossing venom on a site, but more of the fans at the actual game and their behavior toward visiting fans. Just a guess. It's one thing when a bunch of guys go to an away game w/their friends, but different for a family. I'm gong, but not bringing my rife or kids b/c some (not the majority) of RU fans in the parking lots are s. I realize that happens everywhere, but it seems o be prevalent in NJ.

Speaking off hostile fanbases... When we were talking to Iowa St fans from last year all they would talk about was how a mob of UConn students broke the leg of their mascot by pushing him enmasse over some stadium railing at the rent... Also off how verbally and physically abusive you were to their fans that made the journey to the rent... Many actually expressed surprised with RU's treatment off them at the Pinstripe bowl since they expected all northeastern fanbases to behave as UConn did...

Now I KNOW you can't paint an entire fanbase with such a broad brush... but some of you guys must've done some pretty terrible to them to leave such a lasting impression on them early last fall that they'd be literally scared/concerned of such repeat treatment in late December... and it wasn't one or two isolated incidents either... it was many, many incidents according to them...

That was so lame. RU can't even afford a marching band.

Southern Connecticut is supposed to be a part of this mythical 'Tri-State' area, but you are never represented in the local culture. In any way. You are perfectly & justifiably absent from this dynamic. NYC hates NJ, NJ hates NYC. We have to bare each other on a regular basis. It has bite & teeth. Conn does not even factor into that equation. You are, as I said, the The Bermuda Triangle of the 'Tri-State' area. No one cares. Go away.

You are so full of ... Do some better Internet research before posting. It was a wing and he backed off the stairs because he didn't have eyes in the back of his mascot head and I guess he couldn't fly. Don't let the facts stand in the way of a good story.

that's what the ISU fans said on their boards last December... I didn't make it up... they said your students rushed him enmasse and pushed him off some railing/stairs at your stadium... and he broke his leg or arm (don't exactly remember which part they said was broken)... anyway that's their side of the story... anyway they were very upset about that and actually asked our board (rivals) if something like that was likely to occur vs RU in the pinstripe bowl...

They deserved it. And they cried like little bitche$ about their mascot getting beat up in the Uconn student section. Turns out the goofball fell down on his own, It was in the paper the next day. We were brutal to them on the ESPN board, I think most had to go to therapy.

Exactly............... Iowa State fans were perfectly respectable types & Rutgers fans acted accordingly. THAT'S REAL RESPECT!
What Uconn fans want is to act any way they feel like & expect zero repercussions for their actions.

Pudge - not trying to be adversarial but help me understand lumping our current AD (who's been on the job 6 months) in w/ HCPP in regards to your statement regarding "missed opportunties"? (Outside of the "he should fire HCPP argument").

We are flatlining ... imho ... and I can't figure out what Warde Manual thinks about that. I value this Program. Initially, I thought Pasqualoni may be a good solid transition to a period where we become a more robust Program. Better recruiting; Better Marketing; Better Gameday experience; Better Fundraising. At the moment ... I am discouraged by the PP & DeLeone posture. You can say this is about winning ballgames ... but we really aren't winning some of the games we should; however, I would state that OUR Program also needs to grow. It needs momentum forward. Excitement. We are a young fanbase. I believe if you don't grow our FANBASE & build momentum now, it will very hard after some dreary DeLeone offense years.

Manual? Do we even know what he had done at Buffalo or what he wants to achieve here? Going from 38,500 to 34,500 is just as bad as going 5-7, IMHO.

As others have posted many UConn fans pick 1 marquee away game each season and travel to that 1 game, along with a bowl. I've been to games at RU in 06, 08, 10, and will be there Saturday. I could care less if Rutgers fans swear and yell at me, I know I intive it by my gameday attire. As long as nobody hits me or throws a battery at me I'm good. That has not happened at RU or anywhere else for that matter. I don't care about tailgating either so when people say they don't want to drive down to a noon game because they will have to leave super early to tailgate, it just does not make sense to me. I go to games to support my team...that's it. It takes me no more than 2.5 hours to drive down there from central CT, so a noon game does not present a problem at all. Parking isn't an issue if you park at the RAC and take the bus.
I think part of the reason we don't travel well is because we struggle to fill our own stadium with 40,000 people. I would guess at least 30% of our fan base attends games more for the tailgating and the socialising than for the actual game itself. The fan base just needs more time to grow before we can send 7,000 people to every away game. I wish we were at that level, but as long as we can put a winning product on the field year after year, or fan base will grow more dedicated and travel numbers will go up.

You're earlier posts were effective because they were novel. The lone RU fan taking on the UConn board in a blunt manner. Now... eh, you're pushing it. Trying a little too hard, IMO. Let it be

Nah.
Uconn fans have absolutely no qualms about trying to eviscerate the state of New Jersey well beyond a Rutgers/Uconn rivalry. With that said, I'm not letting anything be.

Are Rutgers sports for *ISH? Without question..................... We are terrible!
Is Connecticut inherently better than New Jersey? I'm not so sure about that.
In my contention; you are New Jersey lite. You're the boring, manufactured version of us. Connecticut is New Jersey without a personality. You are our lame cousin from out of town.
You get over because who cares about Conn? The NYC media does not even see fit to include you in their self fulfilling, masturbatory type press. That's how little you mean in the grand scheme of things.

And New Jersey/New York do not even consider you worthy of the game.
I hope Connecticut understands that they don't count. You don't count. You don't count. You don't count.
Culturally, the Tri-State area does not exist. Sorry.................................

Connecticut: A richer state than NJ.

http://money.usnews.com/money/personal-finance/slideshows/the-10-richest-states-in-the-union/5

Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2

This year................. Ct, Nj & Md (Va has entered the mix) have been rotating the per capita income & various economic distinctions for years & years & years. Stop it. Lets all be grown ups about this sort of thing. Please don't act as if NJ can't compete. Simply not true. Football has nothing to do with viability.
This sort of thing (beyond geography) is why CT types dislike NJ.
We have more fun than you & can compete economically. Have your own fun & leave us alone.
