This is creative and out of the box thinking and worthy of consideration. Certainly has bonafides and credentials. I dont know if he is a passing guy - please educate me.

Ask Buddy Ryan...

Edsall scores extra points with the fans if he brings in Weist as OC. Either TJ or someone who can run Moorhead's offense.
Does anyone know if Charlie Strong will keep TJ at USF? Seems like he'd bring in his own guys. But he's had a great year at South Florida running their offense. Would be a great hire for Randy to bring come old/new connections together for the fan base.

As for the Diaco era staff- to be honest, I wouldn't keep a single one of them except Matt Balis and his S&C staff.

FOR THE LOVE OF GOD WOULD EVERYONE PLEASE GIVE UP ON BOTH TJ WEIST (a really bizarre colt obsession here) AND THE BLOCK C (a more reasonable but still bizarre colt obsession here). PLEASE.

agree 1million % act like tj is the next nick saban. get off your man crush...

It's been a few years...he hopefully has grown a bit. We need to see a game before we can claim SORE (same ole Randy Edsall).

As I have gotten older, one of the thinks I have realized more than anything is if don't evolve you fail. BD didn't learn that...and now he is selling cranberry pants on eBay. (Not that he needs to sell anything).

On top of scheme changes..I also hope he is better with media and fan access. DB is different than JH and won't let RE hide. DB knows that coach engagement with fans and media is critical.
Agree! That was always my big issue with Edsall when he was here, even well before the BCS season. He always was very much disconnected from the fan base and the media. Benedict won't let that happen again, and hopefully we'll see more of Edsall not only in media avails, but also doing more things that connect with the students and fan base. That was one thing Diaco really tried to do.

For the record, I just think the guy has done well this season at USF and has a connection via the PP era to UConn... Would be interesting- that's all. Also, I'm so over the block C and its never coming back. So chill!

I'm expecting Cody Edsall to be named DB coach

Is he a good coach or is it because of family connections? If he is a good coach, ok, but we will need new blood. I want a 100% turnover rate on the coaches and 75% on the players. I'd love to see DO as a QB coach... (or Shane Stafford who is QB coach of the Tampa Bay Storm)

Since they are scheduled to be removed Jan 4/5 - I assume we have people in place then?

How quickly this is all coming together, do you think Benedict was out putting together a new coaching staff before firing Diaco and making Edsall official?

Names to be announced 1/5 it sounds like. Likely to be leaked earlier I imagine.

Benedict is not/was not out hiring a coaching staff... Edsall may have had a few more days lead time than is being reported.

So a lot of behind the scenes stuff was happening and no one knew anything about it.

My assumption is that a lot of this was worked out prior to HCRE being announced. I'm guessing DB had some input on his staff in the negotiation process.

This is basically what I was eluding to in one of my previous posts. I thought the same thing.

Director of Football Operations - somebody on the Colorado staff?

If I was a betting man... I may bet the spare bedroom over the garage (but not the whole house) on it being Dave Wilczewski. Wilczewski served w/ Edsall as Recruiting Assistant @Uconn from 2008-2013 then went to Maryland (now Dir. of Football Recruiting Ops) and has an MBA.

Since Randy's first day is technically Jan. 2nd, and Diaco's last day is the same. Do you think there will be any awkward meetings in the hallways of the Burton between Diaco and RE in the coming days?? LOL

I posted in another thread but I'd like to see him give a call to Rick Neuheisel the former Colorado and UCLA coach who was also an NFL OC. He was a QB and knows the pro style offense. He hasn't coached in 5 years and is currently a college analyst for CBS. He's 55 and maybe interested in coaching again. He was a dynamic offensive coach but really a West Coast guy so not sure he'd want to come East.
