Oh John, we were making such progress. Are you going back to you contention that the all white huskies we have had as mascots since 1935, weren't actually huskies? I am just at as loss as to why this so hard emotionally for you to acknowledge. Go ahead and try. I have faith in you! You can do it!

I don’t think CL82 is arguing that the old 80-2012 mascot is a husky and he’s not saying we shouldn’t have a new mascot. He’s just saying the new mascot should be white. Make it an all white husky. Am I missing something here?

I tend to agree. There are several other schools with husky mascots and what set UConn apart is that we are synonymous with the white husky. When the general public thinks of UConn they think white husky. I was fine with them changing the logo, it should just be white. People have posted a version of our new mascot where it’s all white and it’s way better. They screwed up our branding IMO. White huskies exist. It doesn’t need to be a Samoyed.
 
The real story here is that 3 people voted for "Musket Husky".

My opinion on the 80-2000s Husky is that, while people know it was drawn based on another kind of dog, it's obviously very similar to a Husky and it's really just a fluffier maned Husky.

I don't think logos are generally exact depictions. It's not like anyone would be complaining "that doesn't look like a Husky!" if they didn't know that fact. Just my opinion, maybe I'm wrong. A Husky can have fluffy hair around their mane.

I'll agree that the newest logo looks more like a "classic" Husky that we know ... but that doesn't make me think it's the best logo. I think the "Samoyed" logo is unique and not so unlike a Husky as to disqualify it, but again JMO.
 
Good idea to clean out your trunk every 10 years or so. Got this when I started going to The Rent. Must have gotten an older model on sale.

After reading the pros and cons of having a logo which is close to being an anatomically correct depiction of a husky and accurately conveys the history of UConn having all white husky mascots throughout its history up through the championship seasons, I am changing my vote to the 1970's logo.

by the way, pirates typically in historical terms did not have mustaches and certainly were not blue in color. I don't get why Seton Hall wouldn't change that logo, it's not historically accurate.

Also, that Providence logo looks more like a nun than a Friar ... ok, we'll let that one stay as is.

Yeah it looks unkept, the eyes are weak and it appears to be suffering from COPD and it wasn't that big of a transition.

I give Creighton credit for effort, the C and the mascot. Depaul isn't bad but the lettering is too small. Marquette has their initials plus tiny lettering, fail. PC, outside of the Big East, no one would have a clue. StJ bad. G, V, X, meh. They need to resize the Husky if they are including it in this lineup.
 
The 2013 one has a modern look with the penetrating eyes, wide open mouth, ears standing up to give an attentive and focused look , lower palate showing, contrasting mane with the solid white face. More determined and ready to pounce. The other versions were more mellow. Though, it looks more like a wolf than a husky. Not your father's Husky but since it is called the blue wolf, then that explains it.
 
I have a musket husky shirt from when they started selling all the old logos around the time they released the latest one. I love it but in way is it our “best” logo.

I may be in the minority here, but I hate the very old ones. I like the 90's one and the current one (i was one if the biggest complainers about it, but it's grown on me).
 
The current logo is far and away the best one. I’m guessing people that prefer the old logo are over 60. I don’t mean that in an insulting way, but my parents like the championship logo best and they are in their 70’s. My whole household likes the new logo much better. We are in our 40’s, kids are teens.
 
It took me about a year to get used to the new one but at this point I don't really care.
