BEST: tie between 80s/90s and current
WORST: tie between musket and 02-13
WORST: tie between musket and 02-13
At some point, think it was on instagram or twitter, someone had mocked up a futuristic robotic looking husky. It looked awesome, wish I'd saved a copy
Block C is best for footballI hate when people use 02-13 and 80s-90s interchangeably. 80s-90s is the classic one you love not the 02-13 one. That one can go die on poop logo mountain with the block C. Both super lame cheesy logos that deserved to die in ‘13.
The 2000s dog is the same as the 80s-90s dog. It's just more cleaned up.I hate when people use 02-13 and 80s-90s interchangeably. 80s-90s is the classic one you love not the 02-13 one. I agree. The current logo is so synonymous with the AAC since we rebranded in the spring of 2013 right before we entered our first season in the AAC. Since we were about to start a new era in all sports, I think that's why administration thought it was the right time to rebrand. Since we are going back to the Big East, I would not mind going back to the logos we had while we were in the Big East.I like both the 1980-2012 versions. The blue wolf I associate with the AAC, Kevin Ollie, Bob Diaco and the car wash. We did win a few titles between mbb and wbb, but overall wasn't a great time.
I remember that was another argument people have been making since we rebranded. The UConn Husky was always the all white husky. People always point out the the 80's through 2013 logo was actually a samoyed, but it was still unique to UConn athletics, and synonymous with our rise to being a Championship program on both the men's and women's side. I like tradition, and Im a firm believer in "If It ain't broke, don't fix it".I have yet to understand the reasoning behind the logo change and branding to only "UCONN" other than just selling more merch We paid Nike a boatload of money to come up with a cookie cutter logo that has no originality. The irony of Nike's "rebrand" of the logo is I would bet most of the country's fan bases probably associate our old logo with the program moreso than the current one that has been around for almost a decade. I've gotten used to the logo over time, and winning a natty with it helps, but feel like a little bit of tradition was lost when we got the new one.
My thoughts exactly. With the 02'-13' logo, casual rival fans KNEW who they were playing against. While the new logo has grown on me and I ended my boycott of buying gear with the new logo a while back, it doesn't stand out the same way IMO.80's-90's and 02'-13' are great. I'm not hung up on red tongue vice no red tongue but they are definitely the best. It was unique to UConn for branding.
As several others have shown, the current Husky can be mistaken for a dozen other schools and teams.
We've gone over this a bunch of times and you're still wrong. The logo we were known for is a Samoyed, the current logo which we are known for and will be more known for nationally as the program returns to prominence/dominance is that of a Husky (Siberian Husky) not a wolf. You clearly have no clue what a wolf or husky looks like. You guys really need to learn your school history. 80 years of UConn tradition.
From 1935 until her move to the Blue Wolf Every husky mascot that we have had has been a white husky not a Samoyed. Wow many schools have Huskies as a mascot, the white husky was unique to UConn.
